Sitting at local dealer today for 5k mile service and noticed a Tundra sitting in the lot with a skid plate with an integrated step installed. Apparently, it's a Southeast Toyota Dealers exclusive product.
Dealer quoted me $390 for part only and $440 installed.

I would buy this so when I hit the back wall of the garage I don't hurt my baby! I only have 3 inches of space, wonder if this sticks out further than that.

It looks clean, almost like a baby bull bar, which I've always wanted!

Looks like you have to sacrifice your tow hooks to place this.

Think that's more suited for the big 3 so owners can look at their engines and see what's wrong.

Yeah I see that now. I don’t know if it’s for methough. Definitely isn’t horrible. It looks like it might turn into a small fender bender into a frame bender.

I think that I would wack my shin on that 1000 times.

Might be useful for some I guess. I'm 6'8" - no step needed.

The cheaper way to solve your issue is to put something on the floor you can see from the driver’s seat that moves when your bumper hits it. Tennis ball on a string hanging from overhead storage or ceiling works too.

For me 450 would be better going towards an aftermarket bumper.

It’s cool the dealer is offering something. But I think I would rather get the pro or RCI skid plate personally.

Just what I was thinking. This makes a lot of sense for an F bomb but for a Tundra it's kinda like lipstick on a pig.:D

I only meant to bring attention to an option that it was being offered at a dealer, but apparently/allegedly only SETD not nationwide. I realize there are other similar aftermarket options.

Has anyone else bought this skid plate? Seems like a great idea with the step especially for shorties like me.

Is it also high enough to keep others from hitting the bumper?

This is not a skid plate. It’s a step that they dressed up as a skid plate. Highly doubt it can take any kind of impact and you just lose more clearance.

I do not have the bar installed, but I do know that you just remove the tow hooks to attach the bar and bolt them back on, the bar is designed to keep the factory tow hooks.
