So when I was young most trucks were single cab. Then the extended cabs showed up which were cool. Then the 4 doors showed up which were ackward at first but now make so much sense lol. The single cabs almost dissapeared except for work trucks. But now I am seeing a quick incline in single cabs again. Many are lowered or drag race ready. Anyone else seeing this too?

I doubt it considering companies like Toyota eliminated it as an option. Chevy and ford still do some but not many compared to other cabs.

I really wanted a Regular Cab, short bed (RCSB) 3rd gen Tundra but Toyota never made one. If they did, that's what I would be driving right now. Even the second gen RCSB are rarer then hen's teeth around here. Regular cab/long beds are fairly rare too and always stripped down "work trucks".

This is kind of a chicken or the egg type of thing... Are they not popular because they are hard to find or are they hard to find because they are not popular? I'm guessing the later because so many people want/buy crew cabs now because they use them as the family haulers.

Funny how things change. When I was a kid, very few people (outside of farmers) had pickups. There was only one guy in my neighborhood that had a pickup. Most tradesman drove work vans. Fast forward to now and I was driving home one night and noticed at least 80% of the homes in my subdivision had a truck parked in the driveway.

Where I live theres a group of douchebags that call themselves “mini truckers” that all have lowered single cab trucks. You usually first notice them by the cloud of tobacco vapor rising up from both windows.

I think this little fad is what you are noticing, sales of single cabs have been in decline for a long time now which is why Toyota stopped making them.

Toyota is still making the regular cab Tundra, but it's not available in North America.

I wish they would reintroduce the regular cab in North America before they release the Gen 3 Tundra.

Spotted this Regular Cab Tundra today on my college campus in Texas. Looks to be a 3rd gen, I don’t recall ever seeing one in Regular cab version until today

Almost 5,000 regular cab long bed Tundra were sold in America between 2014 and the end of 2017

I always thought the coolest trucks were the GM 3rd Gen single cab short bed step sides. Just sayin'...

The Gen1 are just so right sized for so many jobs!
