How ya doing guys! New member here with a 2017 MGM SR5 Tundra. I was wondering if anyone wants to share a picture of their tundra with side steps or nerf bars. I'm looking for ones that stick out the furthest to also double as door ding protectors. I live in an apt complex where there seems to be a fad to just swing your car door open as wide as it can go. Same scenario at my work.

If you can, please post up some pictures of your nerf bars or side steps, what they are and best place to purchase if possible. Thanks in advance! IMG_8970.jpg

First, for that to actually work, you will need to lift the truck up high enough for the middle of the door to the other car would hit your steps.
No steps will prevent that from happening on your truck.
But, here is a look at mine.

It would need to be at least a 6" lift even with 35s. But, most of the steps made only go out so far. I would suggest finding a local Jeep accessories place and ask what they think.

With my fiancé being 4'11 she already has to pull herself into this truck at stock form. So I definitely need to get steps. But I just thought if I was gonna get one anyways, might as well make it dual purpose somehow. I'm see a whole bunch for sale but hard to tell if it's what I'm looking for without seeing it on an actual truck.

Adding a step would not be that hard. One can be fabricated and welded on. It will change the look, but would function. But, as I said, the best place to visit in a Jeep accessories store would be able to help you the most. They have stuff you wouldn't even think of. And, they would know about this better than anyone.

Yeah it seems like every time I go to the store I get a sent or a scratch. And that's because I park way out far

Oh you mean u park way out in the middle of a row with 20 empty spots and you come back out and have that one car that just parks right beside you? Yea. That happens to me too.

I guess some people don't value their vehicles too much. I do not make tons of money and I value almost all my investments. A vehicle is not cheap these days so I value all my vehicles. Not to mention, my slight OCD doesn't help either.

Should consider rock sliders since they stick out a little farther. I have All Pro and haven't had a ding since.

Thought about sliders. But once the truck is lifted, my fiancé may have a hard time getting her foot on them since they sit level to the floorboard it seems. She's 4'11. :)

They are level to the frame. I'm on a 3" lift and my wife is 5'2". It's a lot easier for her to get in and out

Thanks buddy! I have CB shims, +2 shackles and AAL on the Pro suspension with 35" Cooper Pros on Pro Comps. https://www.tundras.com/threads/boardudes-fuego-build.1953/

I like the sliders because aside from the trail protection they don't take away from the height of the truck like most steps do as they hang a little lower. Mine also have a kickout towards the rear wheel which makes it easier to access the bed.

for a product of this size and weight, im guessing shipping would cost about half the cost of these steps.
