So my wife has taken my Tundra to work the past couple of days and left me with her Camaro. It was fun for a few minutes but I don't see how she drives it everyday. I hinted around about trading it in and didn't get a crazy reaction.

So.... she went to work yesterday and I went and made a deal on a new 2017 4Runner TRD Off-Road. She loves it!!

Now of course she wants to lift it, put new wheels and a bigger more aggressive A/T tire on it, and black out all the chrome badges. This is good for me if I have any money left for my Tundra!

PS...I know some of you have 4Runners as well. Would love your ideas!

I just read this to my fiancé, who happens to drive a 2017 Camaro. I hate that car. Can’t see out of the windows and blind spot central. I wish that she’d let me trade her car in. I’ve been pushing for her to get a 2018 Camry, but she’s, not hearing it yet.

Welcome to the dual squad! I've been away from the board and internet for a few weeks... life got real sadly but I'll be back soon.
We have some custom decals in shipping for the Runner and Tundra, so look forward to updates!

Not white..... but 3" spacer and some 33's with tinted windows....will look for a front pic. I had the center portion of the bumper wrapped in black vinyl.

question for all your latest generation 4runner people...

My wife's car is a 4th gen 4R with the v8 & awd. I love that thing but it's getting on a bit and with mini-me on the way, I'd like to get her something newer, more reliable and safer buttttttt - I really don't want to give up the v8 - it's an awesome engine, reliable, powerful and cheap as hell to fix if/when it breaks.

What are the new engines like? are they torquey at all?

We had a 03 4 runner v8 the wife loved it. Then we traded it in on a 13 limited 4 runner, she had it a month and hated it, because she was used to the v8. Traded the 13 on a Yukon Denali. The Denali has already been in the shop more than both 4 runners . Wished she would've liked the Sequoia more.

Why toyota ever got rid of the v8 I'll never figure out. Both v6 and v8 got the same fuel mileage.

I loved my 4Runner. I found myself needing more and more space to haul stuff so had to get rid of it a couple of years ago and got a tundra. I haven't done any upgrades yet, but eventually I'll make it like my 5th gen 4Runner.

After my wife realized I was right that's what she did.
