I wanted to get some feedback on what you guys and gals think about me selling my 2019 Trd Pro to get a 2020 Platinum. Here's a pic of my current setup
    20200503_163047.jpg
I'm digging the interior of the platinum, but not the chrome.....which I would immediately change. I would set the platinum up as follows:

Super White with complete OME BP-51 kit
    Method Roost 18x9s in black
    Cooper STT pros in 295/70/18
    remove chrome badging
Keep my SDHQ sliders from my Pro
Keep my Warn EVO12S and Rigid light bar and get the SDHQ hidden mount
Get the Pro grill and keep my Yota LEDs
Already have my Rigd mega fit waiting in my garage

    Any thoughts?
    Thanks.

Your truck looks great! The amount of cash you are gonna lose on the trade in and sales tax (depending on your state, but definitely a killer here in California), doesn’t seem worth it to me... put some Katskinz seat covers on there or keep modding away and save that cash / spend on personalizing your truck even more...of course, just my thoughts

Exactly- just put some leather covers in there and call it a day. No way I would trade if you are not having issues with your current truck.

Great truck and a nice setup! I’ve got a 2020 CM limited and seriously looked at the platinum. The only material advantage of going to the 2020 is adding Apple car play. The platinum itself comes with memory seats, blinkers in the mirrors, and cooled seats (not sure how those features compare to the pro). Those are features I wish I would have just bit the bullet on and purchased the platinum over the limited.

I personally think if you are making the switch just because of the looks, don’t waste the money. But if there are specific features that you want and it helps you enjoy the truck more and want to keep it longer, go for it!

I would keep the Pro. much cheaper to get leather seats installed in it :) Pro will keep its value very good too.
add aftermarket carplay stereo if that's what you need.

    Thanks guys.
    I think I just get bored.....lol
I had a 2016 quicksand Tacoma 4x4 offroad, then traded for a 2017 Cement Pro 4runner which I miss, sold that to buy a 2018 Pro Tacoma, then traded that for my 2019 Pro Tundra, which I probably will keep and just add a remote start and a GFC.

I totally understand getting board with vehicles, I have that problem as well, but dang man if your gonna swap cars all the time you should atleast try something different. Lol 2 Tacoma's an a 4 runner is basically the same thing . Then now a 2nd Tundra no wonder your still board . In all seriousness a Pro has a better cool factor an resale value then a fancied up grocery getter model.

You clearly have money to spare.

    Do what makes you happy.

I always buy the highest trim vehicle I can afford. I prefer all the features and leather is the best, imho.

Adding features you wish you bought stock is a pita and costly in money and time, and sometimes not even possible.

Top models like my 1794 are not grocery getters either lmao, what a silly thing to even say.

And a Tacoma and a 4runner are nothing alike, except the frame. 4runner is far superior in every way.

If you want it, do it. I would never own another Sr5 or any non top trim as I have my Sr5 4Runner and know what a let down not having features is.

    Yes, do it.
But don't put the pro grill on it. That's way too over done. For Pete's sake, there's other grills out there.

I’m not sure why you’d put seat covers on when the pro already has leather interior

I wouldn't. I added seat warmers to my Pro a few weeks ago. Simple to do. I guess you would be missing out on the seat coolers, but my wife has those in her Highlander and they don't do much.
I forgot about the Apple Play and not sure when the push button start came in. Both things I can live without.

I have a 2020 Platinum. I love it. Unless you really don't mind taking the hit, don't do it.

    My thoughts:
I love the smart key and remote start capability.
I love apple CarPlay and that there's no standard antenna--much cleaner look.
The electric folding mirrors are nice, but I rarely use them.
The leather is nice, I don't know that it's that much nicer than the TRD Pro.
The heated seats are great, the ventilated feature is weak at best (you really notice how good they are on the land cruiser) so not worth it in my opinion.
I find the lane departure annoying and often turn it off.
The parking sensors are nice but I don't find myself in situations where they are necessary.

So I guess, with the exception of Apple CarPlay and smartkey, most of the features unique to the Platinum/1794 are nice but I just don't use them that much.

I just traded my 18 trd sport for a 20 1794 and here are my thoughts:

-CarPlay is awesome but I rarely use it because it’s not wireless
-I use the folding mirrors all of the time
-The ventilated seats aren’t as good as I’d like, but they work and I have them on all the time.

I wish that I would have just spent $2500 to add katskin with heated/cooled seats. I received $1000 more in trade in value than what I bought the 18 for, but still owe $15K more on my new truck...not worth it imo. Hope this helps

Nope, keep your current truck and pay it off (if it isn't already), and drive it for a decade, then trade.

You do get bored easily. I drove a 2006 Honda Pilot for 13 years before I bought my Tundra. I’ll probably be buried in it.

I would keep your current truck and install the new Pioneer 8600NEX. Dresses up the interior nicely. Also has WIRELESS CarPlay, and when used in conjunction with the wireless charging center console it makes plugging your phone in seem super old school.

You would still be missing a couple other really nice 2020 Platinum features with the proximity entry, push button start, nicer leather seats, cooled seats (which aren’t super great btw), power fold mirrors, and no antenna. But with your current truck, I don’t think those features are worth it.

Hell, just look at like you are skipping the 2020/2021 Platinum and holding off a year or two so you can build an even more epic 2022/2023 when full redesigned Tundra comes out!
