Okay need advise! I am going to wash my tundra for the first time since I bought my truck 2 weeks ago... Ya I know I waited to long! =) But now that i'm thinking about it I may have run into a dilemma... I'm 5'3... I'm short... Yes I went and bought a extending wash mitt so i'm able to wash the hood and the top... but what is the best way for me to polish and wax said area? I don't have long arms nor go go gadget legs... Sure I can get my ladder out but wasn't sure if there was a better way... and even then the ladder isn't the best solution... Your input is GREATLY appreciated!

I'm over 6'3 and I had to get the ladder out to wax the roof. I stood in the bed for part of it.

First time I washed this truck I realized how much bigger it was than my Tacoma. I could wash the roof of my Tacoma without any problems, now I don't even bother washing the roof most times because no one can see it.

I know they make extendable poles for washing RVs and things like that. I would just make sure whatever it was it was super soft.

Oh and to make life easier a foam cannon. I want one!
Luckily I'm 6'1" and have the wingspan of somebody 6 foot six. In a standard doorway I can touch the floor and just about touch the top of the doorway at the same time, monkey arms LOL but I still need a step ladder.

You're going to need scaffolding. LOL or one of those little giant step ladders. Sketchy!

Be very careful putting any of your weight on the roof. It pops in very easily... so I've heard. I wouldn't know, I've never washed the top of my truck before.

6'3" over here and have to use the bed for washing the roof and the running boards for the front half of the roof the. A step ladder for the windshield.

Always feels weird washing my wife's car....I don't need to climb up on anything to get it all LOL

I use a step stool and extended (soft) mop to wash the beast. I also have to stand in the bed and on the door sills to wax the roof. Not the easiest to do, but well worth the end result! I second the opinion about not putting excess weight on the roof (perhaps bracing one hand on the roof while waxing with the other)...

maybe i'm lazy but the only dude who's going to see my roof is the ex-brother in law as he's 7' tall - and i don't give two shits what his opinion is so my roof doesn't get waxed.

linex roof time? The nice thing about a truck roof is that it's easy to mask off since all 4 sides have breaks.... bad side is that I doubt my buddy's spray booth would give me the height.

You f***ers have made me feel guilty about neglecting the roof now. I'll add it to my weekend chore list.

Sometimes one just has to pay a good detail shop a couple times a year. Most good detail shops fill in rock chips and waxes complete vehicle for under 120.00. I have a co-worker that has a 2001 Duramax with 175k miles and the paint looks like it was a 2014 model. I may start doing this myself as well. Money well spent.

Short of climbing on the hood, the wax job might fall short of a good job that covers everything.
