Hi, newbie here with his first question.

I just swapped the headlights on my 2017 SR to the 2019 with morimoto led projectors. I wired the DRL harness and everything works fine, but I want to modify the DRLs so that instead of being on all the time they only come on when I shift from Park. I tried searching here and on Google for some wiring diagrams but im not even sure what I'm looking for.

There has to be a switch or sensor that detects when the lever goes from park to any other shift which locks the doors. I want to hook the DRLs to that so they only come on the the truck is not on park.

Any idea on what i can do?

    TIA!

Hit the ebrake everytime you turn it off, so when you turn it on they will be off, once you release the ebrake they will come on. You can request the stealership to cut your DRLs and you can have manual control over the DRLs aka parking lights.

Yeah I know that little trick but I'm looking to automate it with the shift

Now I don't take any responsibility in any damage to your truck, this is a just a suggestion...

You can try bypassing by splicing a wire from the ebrake to the Shifter. I know there is a safety switch that will not allow the truck to turn on unless you are in P or N. You can look up the wiring schematics to see what activates during the release from P, to D and tap into that source and you may be able to do what you're looking for.
