It sets your dash Info button to metric or U.S. readout.

For the higher trim models, all 4 of those spots have buttons for features you can choose. The SR5s come with what you have or just a blank with no buttons, which is what I had on my 13' Rock Warrior but I ordered the part that has 3 active buttons (temperature, MPG average and instant, and distance to empty) and it plugs right into the wire harness that sits behind the blank. Works well and easy little upgrade.

OEM part no. 84977-0C020 but this part has a disclaimer as follows:

This modification applies to GRADE, SR5, and ROCK WARRIOR model trucks that have either NO buttons on their switch (i.e. BLANKS) or has only the SETUP button (which changes the temp from F to C). This modification will not apply to models that already have the working MPG display (LIMITED & PLATINUM) which have the "Optitron" gauges, and have the MPG display built into their main gauge-cluster. Your accessory meter will only display the time & temp. Also, if you have the WORK TRUCK option, you may not have the necessary wire harness behind your blank. If you have the sonar package this switch will not work and a different one is required.
