Has anyone experienced the 'kazoo' sound coming from their vehicle in heavy crosswinds at highway speeds? The below youtube video (not mine) has the exact same sound, although much worse than mine is. Mine only happens during a heavy crosswind. Asking to see if anyone has experienced it and if so how it was resolved.

One video and thread said it was the seals around the windshield. I had the windshield and seals replaced at the dealership 1.5 weeks ago, and today experienced the sound again. Another thread is saying it's the seal around the door itself, and when looking at my seal, the adhesive is all but gone on the front / top of the door. All clips are there, but it does pull off the door because the adhesive is all but gone in certain sections.

I have a 2017 Sequoia with 32k miles on it, but bought it used and it's not under manufacturer warranty anymore, so anything I do is out of pocket. I already tried one fix with no success and thought I would ask before trying another. I can't find any threads about this for a Sequoia, but there are several for Tacoma's. Any thoughts or feedback would be much appreciated.

Below is a good video of the sound I'm hearing.

I had the same exact sound on my 17 Double cab. It started happening after I leveled it and had new wheels and tires installed. Never looked into it but am now curious.

Yah it’s never happened to my tundra it’s weird but it only happens when I go out shooting the winds are pretty nuts and that’s when I first heard it. I don’t know what seal I checked all of mine the next I was thinking is hit it with water and see if any goes through ?

I've never messed with any of my seals. Everything seemed to be in really good condition actually. If it was a seal around the windshield, I would think it would be a bigger issue like leaks when washed or something but I haven't seen anything like that.

Yeah, I believe that's the thread that made me think it was the windshield moulding, but had all of it replaced at the dealership and it still happened.

Since this thread, I did notice that the frame of the door (right near the hand grips one would use to get in and out of the seat) would pull away from the frame of the cab, just a little bit when I had a heavy crosswind, and the sound seems to come from that area. I did what another thread suggested and bought some adhesive weather strip from Lowes and cut it about 11 inches and stuck it to the inside of the frame, where I noticed the door pulling out a little. Haven't had anymore heavy winds yet, so I'm still waiting to find out if it works. If it seems to work, I'll have the seal on the driver's side door replaced and see if they can tighten the door to close tighter.

Mine does this when there's a really strong crosswind. I hear a lot out when I'm crossing the desert. I tap the window down just a hair and it goes away. Not enough to crack the window or let the outside air in, just enough to where its still closed but it moves slightly in the molding

Happens in our 17 sequoia, but fine on our 18 Tundra. Would love to find a solution. Crosswinds on the interstate suck with that noise

100% agree... It's not constant, only when a strong crosswind hits. When it does though, it's extremely annoying and grinds my gears. I'm hoping the weather strip works and will give me a better idea of the cause.

I had this same issue with my Tacoma. An easy cheap remedy is to pick up some 1/4 in rubber tube from your local hardware store and thread it inside the seal molding inside the door. Just cut a slot with a razor towards the bottom of the molding and push it through up the door. This kind of bolsters up the molding and creates some reinforcement when the door closes. You might be able to fit some 3/8 tubing in there but you may have to lubricate it with some wd40 or Vaseline to help you slide it in. My crosswind noise and highway noise was drastically reduced.
    Cheers
