Hey all, second week was good. Still only have 600mi on her and im loving it more every time i drive it, getting about 17mpg average still and thats around town. Something i do want to address that im sure a bunch of you have dealt with is that awful bouncing in the rear at highway speeds. Some of you that live in the reno area know that a lot of the highway is cement slabs that are uneven. I dont know if is the suspension or the truck is just the perfect length to get this bounce on them but its pretty ridiculous. It seems to me that the stock shocks even though they are bilstiens arent enough to handle the weight/spring rate of the truck. Ive done a bunch of reading and it seems for what i want the 6112 kit will be perfect so i will be going to 4 wheel parts this weekend to order that setup and will probably get a set of 33" tires not sure on what yet but i had the terra grapplers on my last truck and they were great. Any suggestions or ideas would be awesome but i have done my reading so dont scold me please lol

If you are lifting the front then you will want to get a hold of @Coachbuilder1 to order some shackles, he will guide you to the right rights size based on the amount of lift you want. They help TREMENDOUSLY with the bed bounce.

I'll look into that also I was just going to get some 1" blocks and tapered shims to keep the pinion angle correct. I don't plan on lifting it very much maybe just 2" in the front and 1" in the rear to keep some what of a rake for when I tow/haul stuff. The tires will add a little more than .5" so 2-3" total which is just fine because I still have to load my dirtbike in the back and the lower the better I just want to correct the bounce BS

I did 2" up front with shims and 5100's and did the Coachbuilder +2 shackles instead of a rear block and my ride is lots better than stock. Really helped with the bed bounce.

Welcome from San Diego! I’ll second the @Coachbuilder1 recommendation. I installed a set of TRD Pro takeoffs (about 2” up front) with the CB+2s in the back. The stance, ride and rake are perfect in my opinion.

33” are basically stock sized tires

    Welcome from CT

Shackles will be better than blocks every day of the week and even more on a Saturday.

The polyurethane bushings that come with the coachbuilder shackles really make a huge difference with the bounce. They come with the correct size carrier bearing spacers as well.

    Not nearly enough room here!
We don't have very many CONCRETE roadways in Maryland and from what I read, it's a good thing we don't!
