1170 LUX vs 960 OEM LED... hmm, to me, it's not worth $1300 for a mere 210LUX.

Look at the image screen shot from the HR video provided #479.

    image compare.jpg

Maybe its just my eyes, but the OEM looks brighter overall , better spread IMO. Sure, it's a nice upgrade to halogen but not to OEM LED. Black housing on the Sport is a win as well for me.

I put an email into headlight revolution asking them to explain some of these lux rating discrepancies between new and old videos. They have always been really good responding to my questions I’ll let you know.

I would think it depends on where it's measured! If right in the center, what about the sides? obviously you need to see the sides of the roads too!
If it were me, i'd compare all aspects - to be fair.

I’m sure there are a lot of factors that play into the measurements I am just very curious
I was very surprised to see such a dramatic increase in output with the factory leds vs the Morimotos

Yes it’s from having the headlights in different locations based off the different videos I figured that was the case so old video vs new video can not really be used in data bc of location differences.

I am very happy with the oem led I installed but those Morimotos look cooler than the oem. I like the option on the turn signal flash as well

It’s more than 400 for sure. This is based on the price if you order from TRS website. $1150 plus tax and shipping. If you’re waiting for a group by maybe it’s under $1000. But who knows when that is going to happen. Lol

Only if you have halogens and are thinking between OEM and this.. but $400 bones goes a long ways to getting other cool stuff for your truck!

If you buy 2nd hand OEM LED's they only run around $400 usually, not new but who cares. New take offs. Thats $700-800 savings there.

I just bought OEM LED's from TRS and with going full LED and harnesses from halogen to LED the cost is a lot closer between the XB's and OEM. 996$ is what I paid for the OEM related stuff and XB's are listed at 1050 last I checked.

Not to be rude, but you bought from the wrong place. I got my lights from Toyota of Cool Springs for about $280 each and free shipping on Black Friday. Add a ihacker harness and its much cheaper.

Agreed. I was set on the Morimotos until I rewatched the video. The OEMs appear to be brighter and have a better spread to me also. Went ahead and pulled the trigger on the black housing OEMs.

I think the Oem leds are wayyyyyy brighter on the high beams seems the low beams are similar. Based on these videos Pretty darn disappointing in that regard. I think the Morimoto have a wow factor in the looks department but gosh the high beams are not even close :( I seriously wasn’t expecting this

I wonder if you add a light bar to go on with high beams it would be on par w factory led high beams using the Morimotos I know that is no where near cost effective but then you still have the cool factor of the sequential turns and the slightly higher low beam

    See fine print
because they most likely make more profit from the Morimotos.

No doubt these headlights have the cool factor over the OEM LED lights. The LED strip on these have a squared looked to them vs curved in OEM. The sequential signal is also cool. But the difference in cost is a lot. I just spent $746 total for my TRD Pro headlights from Roman with iHacker harness. Sounds like you have to spend 1200+ for the morimotos plus harness for halogen equipped tundras?

I shopped around quite a bit and the best deal I came up with on the Morimoto was from Lightwerkz. Using their 15% off code they came out to $977. I was able to get OEM LEDs with harness and Morimoto fogs for about $150 less.

I still think it's the next best option for us gen 2 without oem LED option (beside $1800 sequoias) :)

The only headlight upgrade I have ever done in my life was to get better performance of the light and had nothing to do with the looks. I see from the video the low beams only sport 110 lux more than OEM LED's and the high beams fall very short of the performance of the OEM. I really like the way the lights look but is it worth that much for better looking but less performance lights? To each their own.

iHacker won't ship to Canada, and I also included the cost for the 4 extra LED bulbs (Turn signal and side marker) needed to compare to the XB's. So while piecing it together may have been up to $100 cheaper, buying all my stuff from one place and being shipped in one package is easily worth the cost. Being in Canada severely limits my options, and I'm not spending 200 in gas to drive to the states to save 100 and if I do a bunch of packages I can be hit hard with customs.

Headlight Revolution. They also have the XB's if you're looking in that direction. Shipping and customs sucks, but couldn't find a good OEM source up here. essk customs have the XB's and they're out of Saskatoon, once the XB's go into full production they should be a good dealer hopefully.
