    Winter is coming !

What do you run in the winter for oil?
sae 0w-20 full synthetic or sae 5w-20 ?

I live in the northeast, and it can get down right cold at times.
I have a 2015 tundra TRD, with the 5.7, I bought for $16k, with 125k miles on it.

I see they recommend sae 0w-20 full synthetic or sae 5w-20.
Whats the pros and cons of each?

What do you guys recommend to run for my region?

Thanks for the help in advance

Personally I usually run whatever is cheapest in 0w-20, which is normally like Valvoline High Mileage semi synthetic. No complaints and it runs that from 110+ in the summer to -20 in the winter at my parents cabin. 240k and going strong. So out of your two choices I'd get the cheaper one is my point lol

I would suggest 0w, especially in colder climates.

cant go wrong with any 0w20 , good in extreme cold and good in hot weather , if you are towing or working the truck in summer heat alot of guys including myself move up to 5w30 , but thats another conversation for another thread .

Its 0w20 year round here. For oil the cheapest in that weight is good ol Super Tech from Walmart.

Per this illustration, all 3 oil viscosities mentioned have the Exact same temperature usage range, so I guess it is your pick!
