I just bought a 2012 Tundra. Living in the NorthEast the undercarriage is pretty rusty already. Is there a business(kind of like a Ziebart) that does a full under coating. IE. frame, rear axle, leafs, etc. basically everything underneath?

What has your experience been after applied? Does it flake off. What did it cost you?

I use rust check. Have used krown in the past. A lot of people use fluid film, basically you want something that doesn't dry out and harden. The ones I mentioned will creep into all the seems and areas where rust will start. Google search and if you're in the north east I'm sure you'll find a place near you that applies one of these products

Just an FYI for people watching this video in regards to rust check. He used the inner panel aka red can kind of rust check. It isn’t meant to stand up to the blasting of a pressure washer. The coatAnd protect aka green can version of rust check is meant for exposed metal parts. This version better withstand the harsh elements but isn’t as thin and runny as the red can version. This 2 version application of rust check is what makes it good imo.

Protecting future and fixing current rust issues sounds like it's going to be a royal pain in the arse.

I've heard frame rust was a huge problem years ago on the Toyota trucks, but is it still a huge problem now? Do the Toyotas rust out quicker than other brands of trucks?

-Only reason I ask is because I have a '04 Pontiac Vibe.....the best Pontiac Toyota ever built.....and after 16 years of WI winters and brine, and the car is 90% outdoors all the time - the underside of the car has done awesome overall. Only the heat shields are beginning to rust at the mounting points like they always do, but the floors, frame etc. is in great shape and no rust.

No rust underneath . Like new looking. I live in the Twin Cities where they blanket the street with salt. Gotta keep the traffic flowing ya know. Started using Fluid film after being on this forum. Every fall. I use the gallon and a paint brush on big stuff and spray cans x two on the little or hard to reach areas. On third year with same gallon. So far, still looks awesome underneath! Just don’t spray outdoors when it’s windy. Don’t ask me how I know. Like painting, wear clothes you do not care about ruining. My truck is leveled so I can crawl under with my 228 lb fat ass easily!
    Good luck. D
