Truck just rolled past 201,000 miles. no issues up till now. Check engine light came on and truck felt like it wanted to stall. Don't have a scanner so I'm planning on swapping in new plugs and fuel filter. Thinking of using factory plugs since they lasted this long. Do you think it would benefit me to replace the coil packs?

Plugs, pcv valve, clean the MAF, and clean the throttle body. If they've never been done think about doing the O2 sensors.

Don't bother looking for the fuel filter on an 06.

Might as well let the parts store scan your truck while your there for plugs.
$12-15 bucks at Walmart i think for one that will do the job but can be annoying to use.

Probably is just needing a tune up. You still got another 800,000 to go. Then it should be nice and broken in.

When you're doing the plugs you can give the coil packs a look over to check for cracks.

Well I borrowed a scanner from a friend. came up with three codes, but only gave me two. 0101 and 2111. just need to find out what these codes mean. also said misfire which I already knew. I guess Ill try and google the codes before I go out and buy a bunch of parts.

Auto store can tell you when you are there picking up parts.

According to Dr. Google it may be MAFS and a throttle issue.

Easy fixes it seems. Buy one can each of MAF cleaner and throttle body cleaner.

Bet your PCV valve and port may be in need of cleaning too.

    Good looking truck.

Fixing the cause of the maf code, probably sort out the issue with the throttle.

Check for any vacuum leaks after the maf while your cleaning it. Un-metered air getting into /passed the throttle can cause lots of issues.

OK, so I figured that I would do the plugs and pcv valve myself. Was gonna let the dealer check the throttle body, and clean it and the mass airflow sensor. Since they are only 2 blocks away. They call me back and tell me that I need a new throttle body for only $1,000.00. I question them and their reply was , { Well it does have 200,000 miles and its an 06.}. I decline, guess Ill clean it myself. Already bought the plugs and needed cleaners.

It's not a hard job to do. Drain some coolant then pull the hoses and connectors off. 2 12mm nuts and 2 12mm bolts and it's off. 2 Philips screws to pull the maf sensor out then spray it off. You got this. I believe in you.

I'll get it done. Just been busy. When I got it back from the dealer the check engine light was gone. What surprised me was the low tire pressure light was also gone. It had been on for years. The dealer wanted to much to reset it and I couldn't get it off myself.
The truck has been running great since I got it back. Gonna change the plugs today and clean the MAF. Truck is about due for the water pump. I did the last one myself at 110,000 miles.
Truck also has the Bilstien 3 n 1 leveling lift. Rode great after I installed it about 100,000 miles ago. Front suspension feels worn now. Bounces more and leans harder in then I like when going into corners at speed. I would like a bigger front sway bar and might need new inserts for the front suspension.
Just need to look up plug gap before I get started.

You might meet some new bushings and/or endlinks for your sway bar. Mine rolls around in turns like a 70s cadillac and I know I need new bushings.
