Hello all, just writing this to shed some light on the Rough Country vertex coilovers since I haven’t been able to find much info or feedback from tundra owners who are running them on their trucks. To start off with this is my 4th Toyota truck on upgraded coilovers (2005 Tacoma on icon stage 3, 2016 Tacoma fox 2.5’s, 2017 Tacoma king 2.5’s). I’ll be honest and say I wanted to go back with king 2.5’s since I throughly enjoyed them on my last build but the lead times were 8-12 weeks almost across the board no matter which dealer I went through (middle of pandemic). I had no idea these vertex even existed and stumbled across them by accident while looking through Instagram one day. I really think people are sleeping on these since they’re not talked about much, I’ve run a lot of the most popular brands and setups on my past trucks and these are right on par with those in terms of build quality and ride quality. All the parts shipped within 2 days of ordering them! Install went about as smooth as you could expect, though they did not include instructions they have the PDF versions available on the website. I went with the front 3.5” lift coilovers with matching rears and figured I’d try their upper control arms as well. I was a big skeptical after having ran billet icon and total chaos tubular uca’s before. These things are BEEFY, very similar to total chaos but they have greaseable ball joints, which to me and what I do is plenty good enough. They are also adjustable which is a pricey upgrade on any of the competitor options. I’ve had these on my truck for a few weeks now and regularly drive on improvised roads and gravel for work, I have to say these are smoother overall than the king 2.5’s on my last build. Overall very happy with the choice on going with these, very impressed with Rough Country and their push to be a more competitive brand in the higher end shock game. Here are come pics of a little clay road driving I did this past weekend. Let me know if you have any questions on these! Thanks for reading my random rant

Interested to see some pics, and hear how it holds up.

I always root for rough country, even though ive been let down once or twice by there products. They do care and are enthusiasts for the most part I think.

Interesting to note that Rough Country warranties their coil-overs for three years. Icon and most of the other high-end coil-over companies only warranty for one year. And, yes, I am running RC's on my rig for just that reason.

I really want to try a set out. It will be my next purchase for the Tundra.

I had the vertex 6” setup on my 2018 f150 and I will definitely be adding this to my 2021 tundra along with upper control arms, new rear gears, and 35” cooper discoverer at3 xlt tires. This was an awesome setup on my ford and want to have the tundra the same. I promise you will not be disappointed with this kit.

I was going to order them a few days ago, and out of stock! What's the lead time on these? It could be a while given how everything else is doing this also. I emailed them on Monday, and no response yet. We will see..

Edit: Now shows Nov 3rd, ordering now.

Maybe he needed a dust filter for a Hoover Max extract pressure pro model 60… I dunno.
Can anyone else on this thread give anymore info/personal experience on the Vertex COs? The few reviews I have found are really extreme. Either “complete dog shit etc etc” or “better than stock, these are amazing, almost better than Kings for the price etc etc”. Don’t wanna spend $1,400 to get a 50/50 ticket.

They have worked well for me. Did the front and back full kit about 11 months ago. I do have some leaky upper ball joints on both sides. Replaced once, but the next set leaked also, and I don't care that much. My Parents live on a 45min dirt rd, and these glide over the washboard and pot holes. Much better then stock, and would do it again. I'll see if I can get pics.

I ran the VERTEX coilovers on my Denali 1500 for a little over a year before I traded it in. Compared to the King coils that were on my wifes 4 runner, I would say they are very comparable. The built quality was amazing, they never leaked, coils stayed tight with no fade. I'm putting the same ones on my new sequoia

I just ordered the Rough Country Vertex Coilovers only for the 3.5" of lift. I already have aftermarket UCA's, and an Add A-Leaf 2" lift in the rear. I'll be getting rid of my 3" front spacer lift that I installed 13 years ago. (Can't wait to be done with that thing).
I also ordered the V2 Mono tube rear shocks. The vertex rear shocks were just too expensive for me. I already have rear Bilstein 5100's but I've been told by multiple people that matching the front and rear brand specific is important ( I personally don't know how true that is..) but I can always swap the rear Bilstein's back in.
I'll update once I get everything installed.

No complaints after 5000miles on my 6" Vertex coilovers and piggy back rear shocks. Plenty of dirt road and pavement. SPC UCA's and RXT leaf springs btw on a ProComp 6" lift.

So who’s towed with these? I have a 4300lb dry weight TT and am wondering how they do towing?

I towed my 16' cargo trailer fully loaded from Maryland to Washington State with the Vertex Coilovers. It towed great. I've had the Vertex coilovers on my truck for over a year now and I am very happy with them.
I also have Firestone airbags, which I highly recommend for any truck that is used for towing.

@Uppermost What exact setup do you run? Any pics? They have quite a few options and I am intrigued. The RC upper control arms are very inexpensive too. The price point indicates Chinese quality, but I also remember when Ironman hit the US market and had the same concerns.

3.5" Vertex Setup (the 8 ride adjustments isn't a gimmick they actually work), Freedom Off-Road UCA's, Rough Country End links, 2" Add-a-leaf from Supreme Suspensions, 1" Diff Drop, Firestone airbags with on board compressor/wireless controller

@Uppermost thats good to know, thinking about picking these up in 3.5” front and rear and also want to pair the roughy country airbags kit with them. Might be a good setup.

I'm sure you'll be happy with the Rough Country airbags. But I have to say, I've had my Firestone airbags on my truck for 14 years and they still work great. I highly recommend them
