Ok so I know many of you guys run Rough Country kits, what are your thoughts? Any problems, issues, do you regret it, are you happy with it???
I've heard good and negative feedback from many sources, I have to admit though, most were not from this site and didn't have the lifts on Toyotas ,,, so that's why I'm posting here, bcz it'll be going on my '07 tundra .

    Thanks for any input!!

That's why I posted here, weighing out everything,,, my first thought was a Pro-Comp lift.. but wanted to get input on the rough Country kit. Since I've good and bad from non yota owners,I wanted to get there real lowdown with yota owners

Don’t ruin your expensive truck with junk Suspension.

I highly recommended going for something American made like BDS Suspension, Zone, Toytec or Icon.

Stay below 4", anything more on a spacer lift ON a 4x4 requires the cutting of the rear crossmember, NON 4x4 no cutting involved, Bought mine used, didn't know what I was getting into, 6" kit nice looking, but for offroading not good, keep searching in IMHO, good luck

It’s Chinese import. In the Jeep world, we avoid it. I don’t have first hand experience with pro comp. I highly recommend looking at a BDS kit with Fox shocks.

If you are going to be mainly on the road (pavement)...then check out Tundra Chronicles KO2 video on youtube. He has Bilstein 6112/5160 for around 3" lift. These Bilsteins are at a great price point. Also call @Coachbuilder1 for shackles (website ekstrom design), and he can help you with the setup. He is awesome to talk to and very knowledgeable.

I don't plan on doing any hard core off roading,, just some mudding here and there. As much as I'd love to run one of the high dollar kits, my budget doesn't give room for one of these kits lol.

Bilstein 5100 middle setting on front is your best option probably. It will level it out and is better than the Rough Country.

It depends what you are looking for. Most on this site run 3 inch or less lifts, non bracket lifts. If you are looking for a 6 inch lift you will need to do a bracket. If you run a bracket lift I'd plan to upgrade the shocks and coilovers to quality units. I run a pro comp 6 inch bracket lift. It has the pro comp coils up front that are fair quality. The rear pro comp shocks are junk. I've also reworked the rear leafs and shackles to obtain a better ride (eliminating lift block). My truck is a pavement princess mall crawling poser truck. Set up to be big and dd. No regrets on what I have done.

I've installed rc products in the past (on Chevy and nissan) the kits are of acceptable quality for the brackets but the shocks are junk.

You can run 35s or 37s with minimal lift and some hacking...just depends what you are after.

But it’s not about off-roading. You want a kit that rides good 90% of the time when you drive it every day. You do gain Offroad ability with a high dollar kit, but most importantly it doesn’t ride like crap on the road.

    No. Just....no.
Had the RC spacer for the better part of a year. Ride quality suffered in a big way. Finally had enough and bought Toytec BOSS.

The name lets on more than you’d think. I’m starting to think it’s not just a brand name, must be their mission statement too!

Leveled on Bilstein, Toyo's, and nothing else really
Had RC to level my truck, pulled it out 3 months later and went with Bilsteins. If you're just trying to level your truck, go with this. you can find them $120 a strut, and way better ride quality. RC might be ight for other stuff, but you really do get what you paid for in this case. Buy nice or buy twice lol. I dont really offroad much, just trail sometimes. But you feel the difference even driving on roads and going over speed bumps lol

    full set: $356.00 http://www.lowrangeoffroad.com/07-10-toyota-tundra-bilstein-5100-adjustable-ride-height-kit.html
    single strut: $114.65 with code "10EXTRA" https://www.suspensionconnection.com/f4-be5-e428-h0-tundra-bilstein.html

How did you get the 6112 to work with the RC kit? This is something I was looking into.

Just as you would any other coilover just set it on a lower setting or it’ll ride stiff

RC finish is bad. Corrosion less than a year. If u want higher than 3”. go zone off road 5”. Or better bds with coilovers. DB ride fine. But like most mid travel is better.
