Here are a few photos of my truck that I've started building in August of 2022.

This will be my 4th SEMA Show build and it's always exciting for me to work on a new project. I will admit I won't be doing most of the wrenching on this build like on my past truck builds. This is the second Toyota I've owned, but my very first Toyota Tundra. My first Toyota was a 1998 4Runner that I drove almost 400,000 miles before selling it.

JB4 by Burger Motorsports is finally installed on the 2022 Toyota Tundra. It was really easy to install the unit and connecting my iPhone to the tuner was flawless.

I’m using 93 Octane gas and per the JB4 app’s recommendation, I should be using MAP 0 through MAP 3. I think I’ll be toggling between MAP 1 (+3.5 PSI of boost) and MAP 3 (+5 PSI of boost) most of the time.

I drove around with MAP 0 and doing a few launches. The Tundra is a pretty fast truck with its twin snail 3.5L V6 motor.

I then switched to MAP 1 and I felt a noticeable difference in acceleration and engine responsiveness. My initial impression was…”this tuner is totally worth the money.”

Then I selected MAP 3 on the JB4 app and I switched the Tundra’s drive mode to SPORT. Holy shit balls!!! My Tundra transformed into that one mean AF asshole uncle that everyone has who woke up one morning with a bad attitude. Launching the Tundra from standstill to 60 mph was a blast! Tires spinning at launch, tachometer reaching redline in a hurry, and my half ton truck charging hard to the next stop light. Ohhhh Emmm Geeee. The JB4 tuner made my Tundra so much fun to drive.

I wonder if MAP 5 is okay to use with its +6.5 PSI of boost on 93 octane…

I’m going to have to get some run times and dyno numbers in the near future.

 

Getting the ICON Stage 6 lift installed today…

Just a few pics on the Tundra post-install of the ICON Stage 6 + 2.5" Dobinsons rear springs. The front lift is 6.75" from the top of the tire to the bottom edge of the front fender and the rear is 8.25"...so there's a 1.5" difference. This works out great for me since a bed rack and a tonneau cover will be going on the bed. Still lots to do.

The tire and wheel combo is 20X9 0-offset ICON Rebound and Venom Power Trail Hunter R/T 37X12.50R20. I'll be switching to a 17X8.5 0-offset ICON Rebound Pro and Venom Power Swampthing A/T 37X13.50R17 once the tires become available.

Just another sunset photo. Next upgrades or mods for this week are grill trim chrome delete (color match) and Alea Leather interior.

 

I got rid of the cloth interior and replaced it with Alea Leather with contrast stitching.

 

The Black Armour bed mat fits perfectly in the bed. It's thick, heavy (around 60 lbs), rugged, and feels grippy that items in the bed won't be sliding around.

 

I added a pair of Pelican Cargo Case BX55S for gear organization and a Pelican 70QT cooler that I'll be using when camping or for meat storage during hunting season.

The cargo cases are mounted using Pelican's saddle case bed mounts. Unfortunately, the Pelican saddle mounts didn't come with the necessary t-nuts and screws. I had to order from McMaster-Carr a set of 8 t-nuts and 1-inch 5/16"-18 TORX screws to install the saddle mounts to the factory bed rails. Do not buy the t-nuts from Amazon with the 3/8" screws. They will not work with the Pelican saddle mounts.
