Is the 'free shipping' promo back on for these remaining grey/blue tents? Title of this thread looks like it's happening again.

If so, great deal for anyone looking for an RTT. Shipping + residential lift gate deliver can run, like, $450.

 

The Free shipping was during the pre-sale. Any order placed then we could ship straight to customers. At this point the tents have been shipped to two different locations in the US. One of course is the Owner, Roam Adventure Co. in Texas and Mike's Custom Toys in Oregon. We have been trying to give as big of a shipping discount as possible for our customers. Having said that I could not give free shipping on a tent and annex to Maine. So if you are interested in a tent let me know and I will see what we can do. Thanks

How much would shipping be to 37774?

 

We have a flat rate of $150 to your nearest Fed EX freight hub. This has been working very well, because you can pick it up at the hub on your schedule. Recently we had a customer take a day off work to be home during a scheduled delivery time, only to have the freight company do a no show. They did not deliver the tent for another two days. So this poor customer lost a day of wages for nothing and we could not recoup any money from the freight carrier because the delivery times are an estimate. If you would still rather get a quote to your door I can set one up.

 

Hmmn, don't know if this is referring to me or another customer, but mine was a full week late, after I arranged a day off and friends to help me install. A week later was the day before we were due to leave for 2 nights of camping. Got the RTT on but no time to dial it in (make sure we understood how to set up windows, attack tie-downs). So it flapped all night in wind at an off-grid campout in Ocatilo. It sucked. This pick-up at a local hub would maybe have been a better choice.

 

Your experience and others has show that eventhough it is nice for it to be delivered to our homes,freight companies do not always hold up their promises. I am sorry you had a bad experience. Other than that how do you like your tent?

Dont the tent rails run parallel to a kb voodoo bed rack. How would I mount to the rack if they don’t line up?

 

They run non parallel to the kb voodoo bed racks and would work fine. However the sale was over in 2020

 

Have you seen anyone mount these tents on top of the cab of a crewmax? I’m on the fence. I’ve done the bed rack RTT (one of your tents!) but with my 21 tundra, I want to throw a prinsu on the cab and mount the tent there so I can keep my bed open. Are you aware if anyone has done this with any of your tents? Tough to find any info on this

 

Not yet. I would suggest a Sherpa rack over the prinsu to handle the weight if you haven't make the rack purchase yet.

Never heard of that. Thank you. The prinsu has a decent enough weight rating (I thought) and I would’nt be concerned about flirting with that line, but I’m certainly not opposed to spending a touch more for quality and to support a smaller business, where my money would matter. My concern regards the amount of space available to place a tent on the roof, itself. Could be some size issues for sure. Just never seen it before, but once I throw a rack over the bed, the “truck” portion of owning a truck kind of goes away for me. I use the bed a fair amount for dump runs and home projects

 

I totally understand. Here is a regular vagabond on a 4runner with a sherpa rack.

 

What, if any, products to you get a commission on? Maybe you own the business that sells the Sherpa rack? I’d like to keep that in mind when I buy a rack and tent setup
