Moving my son and his family to San Diego from South Carolina. This will be my first time putting my 2013 Crewmax on the road this distance, I will also be pulling a second vehicle on the uhaul.
Any suggestions or recommendations I should adhere to before taking this trip. I do plan on getting it checked out before the trip. Just thought I’d solicit some good advice from the fellas to prepare me.

    It's good
Fluids, tires, brakes, watch temp. Spare tire. Don’t hurry with a tow. Don’t drive tired. Tools, speed tape, zip ties, jumpers, etc. know distance to next gas station in regards to tank. Keep it above 1/4. Watch out for Cali drivers, they will cut you off, brake in front of you and drift lanes.

First thing first remind him everyone is trying to flee cali.....

kidding aside, make sure your spare tire is good as mentioned. The last thing you want is to get a flat with an old cracked out spare towing a trailer

Leave earlier than you think you need to, and drive slower than you think you can. Leave a day or two early if you can. It helps remove the urge to rush and gives buffer time to deal with anything unexpected that might come up.

Lock everything down on your rig.

If you get in a police chase just drive like a maniac and they'll let you go.
