anyone ever have to road force balance their tundra tires , I have tried several tire shops over the years to spin balance my tires with NO luck . I always have to get them road force balanced and it does not matter if I buy cheap tires or name brand / why only the tundra ? 2008 TUNDRA SR5 4X4 5.7L

I agree. Never heard of this til I bought my Tundra. But, mine was road-forced balanced several times by the dealer and another place and still had a shimmy in my steering wheel between 50-65 mph. Took an engineer from Toyota to finally resolve. He tweaked my alignment and claimed everything else checked out per Toyota specs. I say B.S. Something fixed it and I’m pretty sure it wasn’t the alignment.

Road force balancing is a better way to balance a tire. If you are putting force onto the tire while spinning it, you can better determine a truer "zero-point" balance. When I bought my tires I had one that was unable to be road force balanced but able to be regularly spun balanced. Since I supplied the tires, I called the manufacturer directly to see what they would say. They said "no problem, we'll you one right away, do you want us to send it to your shop?" The new tire came in 2 days, I watched them road force balance the tire and it is no joke... Definitely a better balance. I rotate every 2500 miles and they still feel perfect after 18k miles. I guess if it is a recommended method it can only help the overall situation of balance/alignment/smooth ride.

The guys at my Discount Tire hate Tundras. They say they are the worst vehicle to get balanced.
