Stillen CAI, DD 8” exhaust, Toytec Aluma coilovers, Icon leaf springs, SCS SR8 18x9 wheels, Cooper Rugged Trek 275/70/18 A/T Tires, Ecoological bumper shellz and grill surround, AJT interior black out kit, AJT shift knob. TRD pro style grill, VLED aqua blue footwell lights, MESO custom dome and map LED lights, swing case, Rough country bed mat, TRD pro headlights and fog lights, Morimoto XB tail lights and 3rd brake light.
Switching to Icon RXT leaf pack. I already have CB 2+ shackles so it'll lift the rear 3 inches to match the front.
Here is what I have so far: Leafs, OME brake line extension kit, carrier bearing drop kit, new longer u-bolts from toytec, rear shocks that support a 3 inch lift (probably going to go with toytec boss).
Questions on what else I may need: Different rear bump stops? I don't offroad so not sure if this is needed. Leaf spring shim? I've heard that the factory leafs take into account the 38 gallon fuel tank, so not sure if I'll need a shim on the drivers side. Anything else I may be missing?
Just want to make sure I can do this once, do it the right way, and be done with it. Thanks all

Looks good to me. You don’t need bumps stops but you’ll need to drill the factory ones a little to fit the nub in the rxt pack.

Really depends on what you do with your truck…

    silicone paste for lubing bushings.

Lose the shackles and use the OE shackles. You have the ability to adjust lift heights via add/remove/rearrange the orders of the leafs within the pack. longer shackles negatively impacts both performance and longevity of the pack.

seriously consider replace shocks with one’s design for the additional droop travel afforded by such a leaf pack. @AccuTune Offroad has a great option https://www.tundras.com/threads/fox-2-5-rear-1-5-3-lift.122878/

as well as Icon RXT themselves.

as for bumps… @Durobumps makes an awesome set of f/r bumps for the truck. Or you can go full air bumps (fox, king,SPC,ads, locked).

    Depends on your needs…

Thanks for the additional info. My truck is pretty much a pavement princess with intermittent towing/hauling. I have been going back and forth on switching back to stock shackles and selling the CB shackles. As much as I would love to go fox shocks, I think its overkill for my needs at this time.

If towing and hauling is gonna be your thing, my recommendation is that you maintain something with an overload spring or add additional weight bearing mitigation components, sump springs, airbags, RaS etc.

Yeah I've been looking into RAS, I also think I am going to go with Dobinsons or OME greaseable shackles since I don't believe I have my OEM ones. They seem to be a little beefier than stock without the added lift.

I can support going the RXTs + an RAS if you're towing. As @BiggHertz I say drop the lift shackles and modify with the leaf springs. That's what I'm going to end up doing with my setup. Of course - I can help you get a hold of all of it

Well I'd say I would not want to go back again and have to undo the U-bolts and add new bump stops so might as well take care of all that while I have it all apart. I have 4 kids, 8 years of age and under so my time is pretty limited. I'll probably just take a day off work to do this. Would you guys recommend the Timbren off road bump stops or what about the Timbren SES system? That seems like it may help with towing and also have a bump stop role as well.
    Decisions, decisions....

Why the pushback on shackles? Is it not good with RXT's? What about with just stock leaf springs and shackles? ...for an unloaded bed mostly.

If you don't add to the factory bump stop height, then you run the risk of flattened leaf packs when you load up the truck. The whole pkg functions together, if one component isn't right, the whole pkg cannot function properly. Kinda like trying to drive the truck on flat tires. Will it move? Yes! For how long? Bump stops are cheap compared to new springs.

You can do lifted shackles with replacement springs that have more arch/lift but the bump stops have to be heightened to maintain proper support. If you routinely load down the bed or aggressively wheel to where your wheel gets shoved up into the well, your new springs will lose arch.

I think the idea is that shackles essentially flatten the leaf springs to provide lift and better travel. So if you are mostly unloaded not a big deal and they can actually improve the ride. But if you are driving loaded, which I am at about 150lbs at a time plus occasional towing then its not ideal as the flatter leaf springs cause greater sag when loaded/towing. In my scenario since I purchased new leafs packs that are adjustable depending upon where you put the extra leaf, it is better for me to ditch the longer shackles and just add the leaf to provide my 3 inches of lift from the springs themselves to keep the natural curve of the spring then add sumo springs or a similar product for extra support.

And that's why I want to make sure I get this right. I pieced together things haphazardly early on which probably is what resulted in my factory leafs flattening out so quickly. Time to do it right.

I was going to simply add shackles to regain rake on a TRD Pro...back to the drawing board and piggy bank. I do plan to load the bed in the winter to help with traction on slick roads. and the occasional recreation load out. Sub'd to this to see how your setup turns out! @Nbab23

Get rid of the stock rubber bushings of the RXT's and replace with coachbuilder/Energy suspension polyurethane kit and apply lots of lube before installing. Quite a welcome addition for not a lot of money and effort.

I’ll be sure to follow up once I get it all done. It’s definitely adding up fast from a $ standpoint. But once again trying to do it right and do it once so it lasts a nice amount of time.

Yes don't use the bushings that come with the springs. I did and ended up having to buy CB bushings and install afterwards
