I am sure this post has been covered a million times over the years but I cannot locate a thing when Searching.

I am replacing my headlights and want to know how to remove the Fender Grommets without breaking them. I know they can be purchased on ebay and other stores but I would rather just get the ones I have out in one piece without ruining them.

    Thoughts?

Eh? Are you talking about the plastic trim piece below the headlight? Or something with the grill?

You have to take your front grill off first. Then there are two little christmas tree push grommets in the front to pull out. Then just slowly pry the other side off. There are no screws.

Sorry, I did not describe them correctly. These are the plastic push pin/grommets that holdsthe fender liner together to access the headlight bulb, not the actual headlight.

Looks like its already missing the push pin part of the fastener. The center pin and top appear to be broken off.

Everyone of them on my truck looks like that. I checked online and that appears to be the way they came.

That particular push-in connector is designed as a one way, and will get pretty much destroyed when removing. They make aftermarket connectors, but I would get the OEM from the local dealer. About 50 cents each. Just my real world experience.

Leveled larger tires on 18's (more rubber for the road and trails) and rock lights. Adding more soon.

Just know that the fork of the tool has to massage the whole clip to push in the popouts of the retaining clip. Here are some pics. Once you get one side of the clips popouts pushed in, apply a little pulling pressure and it'll begin to come out. The photos might not be in the correct order, this is my first post so I'm still getting used this. I hope this helps.
One more thing, these clips act as a thread point for the screws that hold on various parts on the truck including the mudflaps.
