I recently purchased an after market center console organizer for my 2019 pro and was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to remove the factory rails in the console. There are 4 rivets in front and 4 rivets in back. Or is the only option to drill them out?

I used a chisel and hammer, came right out. Installed a console safe.

1811 - this is probably a dumb question but I’ve already had one “simple” mod backfire on me so I figured I’d ask before screwing something else up. Did you place the chisel right behind the rivet or behind the rail itself? Also, would drilling them out work too as the OP suggested?

Btw....how do you like the console vault? I picked one up yesterday from a private seller for only $150 and it has the upgraded 4 combo lock. Pretty excited to get this thing installed.

Yes behind the rivet, couple of taps and the head comes right off.

I used a chisel to remove the rivet heads but now what’s left of the rivets fell into/behind the console wall. Shall I be concerned of these sharp things falling onto something underneath or not to worry? I guess I could start pulling things apart to find them.

I had to drill these out. I couldn't get a chisel seated on the rivet. Worked like a charm.

Anyone ? I am concerned about the same. Don’t need these things rattling around or damaging something.

Finally... someone else has ran into this problem, my console safe has been sitting on my workbench without a home because of this aftermarket add. I would like to remove and looks to be some good advise in here.

    Thanks all.

Let us know what happens when you pop the rivet heads off.

It'll probably be a few days, but I'll try and report back.
