Today I got off work early decided to install the evo one starter from fortin. Plug n play.
Super easy to install. I did watch a you tube video first. I only had to splice into one factory wire for TPMS interupt

    Very happy.

I used the 12v Solutions version, which was 100% plug and play! It’s been on the truck 2 weeks and so far I love it. It pretty nice to have the truck warm in the morning when it’s 31 degrees outside.

Mine is a 2018 and it has the factory immobilizer. Install was pretty easy and 12v Solutions has a video on how to install it.

Just asking because I just installed the same plug and play unit on a friends 18’. It was plug and play, with the exception of the tpms, and later learned the factory alarm wire. It’s a step that seems to get missed, but it’s in the instructions off to the side.

It would only activate the alarm after sitting overnight.

Apparently the newer kit has an adapter for the TPMS wire. I soldered two wires to complete the TPMS cable, but didn’t have to cut any factory wires on the truck. I did see about another install video for the older kit that required splicing the TPMS wire in the truck.

I’m curious if I even have the alarm. I’ll have to do some research.

Did you splice or actually solder it? I cringe every time someone splices a wire. If I can solder than anyone can and the connection is far superior.

Funny you say that. In the marine world soldered connections are a big no no. Has to do with vibration compromising the connection. I'll always crimp with quality marine grade connectors on my truck, just like my boat .

Yeah, it's actually against ABYC code for new boats.

I just watched he 12V Solutions install video and even though it might be "plug and play" you have to dig pretty deep to get the job done.

Mine has been in for about a month. Install was plug and play and my OCD took over for awhile. Thank God for wire ties. I went the extra for the "online" part and app. I like being able to "keep in touch" from afar.
