    I’m a newbie at this.
    I have a 2004 Toyota Tundra double cab SR5 V8.
I’m trying to get program remote key and cannot seem to get the truck into program mode. I appreciate some help. Thanks

I tried both procedures that I found on the internet to get my truck to go into programming mode and nothing seems to work!!! I’ve tried so many times I’m afraid I’m going to damage something.

I called the dealership and they did confirm my truck came with keyless entry. They said they’d program it for $85, but since these are aftermarket remotes I’m not sure they’d do it and not to mention the $85.

    Now what????

Remote frequencies differ from year to year, and you might have the wrong remotes if not the trk's original remotes. I had to go to Toyota parts to get the correct part # for the remote that matches my vehicle. They will need your VIN# as they can't help you w/o it. Afterward, go online and research it's frequency by using the correct part #. From there, online research, you will find the proper programming for it.
I used the alarm/remote marrying programming procedure to get the remote to work.
    Good luck.

It's not the remotes, but the truck. I can't get the truck's system to go into programming mode. Therefore, I can't even say whether or not the remotes work.

Lastly, I did call the dealership and verified that it does have keyless entry. Also, what was the part number of the remotes. I used that number to buy 2 remotes from online that were compatible.

This is the procedure I used to do my 04DC. Something to think about also, I had trouble with mine the first couple times and it ended up being the drivers door switch was making intermittent contact so it didn't always register that the door was open.

    Single and Double Cab

    1. Start with the key out of the ignition, drivers door is open, all other doors and trunk closed and drivers door is unlocked.
    2. Perform these steps within 5 seconds. A. Insert the key into the ignition (Do NOT Turn it) and Pull key out. B. Insert the key into the ignition (Do NOT Turn it) and Pull key out.
    3. Perform these steps within 40 seconds. A. Close then open the drivers door. B. Close then open the drivers door. C. Insert the key into the ignition (Do NOT Turn it) and Pull key out.
    4. Perform these steps within 40 seconds. A. Close then open the drivers door. B. Close then open the drivers door. C. Insert the key into ignition and leave it in the ignition. D. Close the drivers door. E. Turn the ignition to ON (Do NOT Start or crank engine) then back to OFF. F. Remove the key from the ignition.
    5. Within 3 seconds, the power door locks should lock then unlock automatically indicating successful entry into programming mode. Return to step 1 if the door locks do not cycle at this point.
    6. Perform these steps within 40 seconds. A. Press the lock and unlock buttons on the remote simultaneously for 1.5 seconds. B. Immediately after letting go of the lock and unlock buttons, Press the lock button by itself and hold for 2 seconds. Within 3 seconds, the door locks should lock and then unlock once indicating successful programming. If the door locks cycle twice, repeat steps A and B in step 6 as the remote was not accepted. C. Repeat steps A and B in step 6 for each new remote.
    7. Open drivers door. Test all remotes. Programming is complete.

According to Edmunds "Toyota Tundra Features and Specs" the only Tundra model that comes stock with "remote keyless power door locks" is the Limited model.
    https://www.edmunds.com/toyota/tundra/2004/features-specs/

Anyone here with a model different than the Limited that came stock with the keyless power door locks? Presumably the reason I had no problem with mine.
I'm unaware if the other 2 models had the option to include this when ordering the truck from the factory.

This 2002 Tundra SR5 4wd Access Cab came with a factory fob that locks/unlocks doors from about 25 ft. max distance. Interior lights and cargo lights activate simultaneously. Truck was purchased off lot brand new by me.

I’ve since last year removed the fob hardware out of the old beat up fobs and into newer ‘aftermarket’ look alikes cases. Both still work flawlessly. Batteries last about 12 months.

Well then, looks like OP is SOL (can't find proper programming sequence) and will need to pay the dealership's programming cost.

Compared to trying to figure it all out with little success rates paying the dealer is a no brainer. We’ve had a few posters come through with the same problem. The few that get back with us usually had great success via the dealer for a suprisingly minimal cost.

Yeah, I have definitely thought about letting the dealer do it for $85! I wasted well over 2 hours after SEVERAL attempts!!!

It took me a few tries also. Two of the videos on the internet didn’t work for my truck. I found a third video that was slightly different that worked perfectly.

Anyone here with info on coverting the basic ‘Keyless Entry System’ into the upgraded RS3000 feel free to post up.
