Hello. First post. Wondering if anyone on here has success or trouble registering an out of state 2005 or 2006 tundra from out of state. I am a CA resident and have found a few Craigslist deals out of state and wondering if the hassle is worth it. I cant find if those trucks are 50 state legal or not. I know i would have to smog and fees... any help appreciated. Thanks fellas!

I bought my Tundra from Tx. You will need to get Vin verification from CHP office or AAA and smog checked.
Some paperwork too, I think. I can look it up if I can find my paperwork.

Now that I think about it, I bought my truck from Vroom.com and once the smog and vin verification was done, I sent those forms back to Vroom and they register the vehicle with CA DMV.
CA DMV should have a FAQ section on what it takes to register out of state vehicles.
