Was that price with you driving the truck to them, or pulling the parts first? That seems like a pretty good rate.

I drove the truck and brought the gears & differential to the shop. The money I paid them was for labor and oil.

Keep in mind that this was done a few years ago. Seems like I was somewhere around 100K miles when I regeared. I just rolled 200K last Friday…

I’m sure like everything else, it would cost more to have done today  I’m just up the road in Salem, so I’ll keep that shop in mind.

I want to do limited slip and 5.29's in my 2021 with 35's and after a lot of research on here, I had decided best options were Powertrax and Sierra Gears. Having said that, 3 different gear and offroad shops in my area have all said that they refuse to install anymore Sierra Gear sets. Too many problems. This was shocking to me... The majority said they prefer to install Revolution, with Yukon as a back up.

Anyone else on here ever have issues with Sierra???

Guy that just installed my nitro gears said to avoid Yukon. Too many inconsistencies with their gears. He’s got 20+ years experience so I trust him. He told me either go nitro or revolution.

I haven’t looked to see who all makes gears for us now, but it used to just be Nitro. Then Sierra joined the party.
I have Nitro, and they’ve been great for years now. Lots of towing and my truck is a heavy bitch. Not as silent as OEM, but they still sound the same as always. Quiet enough that nobody notices, but me.
