    Hi gang,

My first Tundra was a 2009 I had it about a week before a record snow fall in Eastern Washington. It was one of the few vehicles traveling on the road instead of getting dug out of a ditch. 130,000 miles later, I traded it for a Tacoma.

After rolling with a Tacoma for 3 years, I traded back to a Tundra. My only problem is: This new 2023 Tundra Limited is BUTT UGLY. I can't get used to the brushed aluminum looking "Fu Manchu".

Oh well, Here I am. I will need some solid advice on new front grill parts to dress this thing up a bit. I will also need advice on wheels and tires. I don't know how to buy wheels; I don't know what the second number on 20x10 means. I need advice on the largest wheels and tires combo for no-lift and for 3" lift.

Actually, I need advice on whether a 3" lift is good or bad for this 2023 Tundra.

Thank you for all the help you can give

When you see a 20x10 or 18x9, that is the diameter and width of the wheel....ie 18 inch diameter with a 9 inch width.

    Welcome to the forum!

As for whether a lift is good or not, that's a personal choice. Just know that lifting it and putting on bigger tires is going to hammer your fuel economy. It does on any vehicle. The change to aerodynamics has a big impact and adding weight doesn't help either.

Personally, if you don't need a lift to fit bigger tires for added ground clearance, I would leave it stock sized. If you want a nicer ride you can downsize from a 20" wheel to an 18" on the same diameter tire. The added sidewall makes it more cushy.

    Also, :worthless:

Rgross, thanks for the warning. My budget just got tight because of this new Tundra, so artificial discipline applied.

Godzilla, good tip. I might take that advice just to keep from getting into too much expense. I got street tires on now, and my property can get a really muddy 100 yd drive way with heavy rain. With that in mind, I do want more aggressive tread. Maybe just some nice GY Wranglers.

I remember when I was 20 year old, snot nosed idiot with a brand new J10 Jeep p/u. I learned a lot in Alabama. How the mud becomes part of your truck, and trying to wash it off is like trying to remove paint. I learned how to get myself out of a creek by running the starter on 1st gear and low range 4x4. Once the tail pipe cleared the water it fired right up. My first white tail buck. TG&Y stores. How to sharpen knives. My first Colt sporter AR. They called 'em Mattel toys back then.
    Lots of cool Alabama memories.
