    Welcome from SoCal..

    A 2016 with less than 10k miles.:eek2:
Im sure you'll get more if you sell her private. It might take awhile though and the right buyer.

    Good Luck

KBB.COM = $35,366 - $38,783 Trade-in Value $37,075. They will most likely make it a "Certified Preowned Vehicle". The price they gave you is not far from the top. Of course you might do better selling it yourself.

    Not nearly enough room here!
For me,selling privately has always been the best way to involve "real dollars" when buying my new vehicle. Without a trade, the dealer has only one way to make their profit. Helps narrow the odds a little.

Pro, Pre TSS, under 10k, that’s at least $38 private sale or trade. But then you fall into the the Tundra, 4 Runner, Tacoma vortex of a buyer saying, I can get brand new for a few grand more. So be ready for some post covid low ball offers versus a 2020/2021. But a smart forum member who knows what it is will hopefully snatch it up. I wound trade you my 2019 CM for yours just for no TSS. Hahaha. But I’m on the east coast.

I would counter $38k and take it. I mean, $1k may not be worth the wait for a private party who will only want to play games and “think” about it.

honestly thats not a bad offer. ive seen local dealers selling at 38k for around 80k miles which means they paid 3-4k less.

Also keep in mind your state sales tax when you trade in a vehicle. If you own it outright, (In NY at least) you wouldnt pay sales tax on the new vehicle up to the trade-in value amount. (Pretty sure thats how it works). So if the trade is close to the private party sale, factor that in if thats how your state works.

Yeah the tax credit makes it hard to private sale in those states. Im in Wa and for example my last trade was offered at 33500 for my Tacoma, 2018 with 18000 miles. I would have to get a private value of at least 36500 to match the actual value. That can make a sale much more difficult considering people can buy the same truck for 35k-ish new.

I have a 2017 PRO with 23K miles - went to a local dealer and gotten an offer for $40,5K. Been trying to do some research to see what they are going for used and I'm finding that the market is all over the place on the prices bc there aren't a lot out there. KBB will say 35K - 38K for dealer sale, Truecar will say 38K to $42K. On the web, I see them listed for sale anywhere between $39K - $50K...Not sure what is a fair price to sell at.

thats a pretty decent offer. i got 39k from my local dealer. i think i could have gotten more private party but i didn’t want the hassle.. that truecar quote was pretty useless for me. some dealers tried to lowball using kbb fair value at 36k. consequently, i searched for my truck and some dealer trying to sell for 54k. idk how they will sell at that price.

Yes i agree with you. I paid 48K for the truck brand new with taxes and fees when i bought it. I'm scratching my head wondering what am i missing?? they are going to buy the truck at 40K and list it at what? 48K?? How will they sell in this market? I will note that mine is lifted with a 4" readylift kit and has 20" wheels --- but honestly those aren't all that valuable or desirable mods on a trd pro IMO.

No particular reason other than that it's getting less and less use the last 16 months and I feel bad letting it sit in the driveway...I don't see the use increasing very much anytime soon as we do have two other vehicles in the family and only two drivers. Figured it would go to a better home and in the process I can reduce the financial burden a bit.

Gotcha. I was toying with the idea of getting a 5.7. I just paid off my 2013 with the 4.6 and 95,000 miles. The thought of $600 payments and 13 mpgs didnt sound like fun....so I bought a travel trailer instead. Monday I put down a deposit for an order on a custom build enclosed cargo trailer.

I just traded my 2019 PRO with 22k miles in for 44.5k and took my diamondback HD off and sold it to a friend.
