    Hello everyone,

I have a bone stock 2018 Tundra Limited CrewMax and recently the garage door buttons are intermittently working. When I first start the truck I can press only 1 of the 3 opener buttons once to work and it doesn't matter which one it is. After that there is no green light when pressing it and it won't respond to me pressing any of the opener buttons. The only time it does work is when I use it the first time after starting or if I unplug the power to the mirror and plug it back in and that's even hit/miss. Has anybody ever had this happen or what to check/look for to resolve this issue? Other than that it runs like a dream. Thank you in advance for any input.

I'd try clearing out the opener and reprogramming all your remotes.
I had that issue years ago in my 2014 and it somehow corrected itself.

Does the mirror have a compass?
Does it work all the time?

This is exactly what I was going to suggest....

Yes it has a compass and it has no issues. As far as trying to reprogram it I've tried with no luck. It won't respond.

So at least you know the mirror has power..
So you've completely cleared the opener and reprogrammed all remotes.

Did you also clear/erase the mirror memory as well, before reprogramming it?

Did you reprogram your truck HomeLink by hitting the learn button on the opener, or by using the garage remote with your truck mirror?
If using the remote won't work, try using the learn button of the opener.

I had this same issue years ago, it would work sometimes, and then it wouldn't.
I can't remember what I did to fix it other than clearing out the mirror and the opener and reprogramming it all..

I actually had my opener replaced under warranty yesterday for an unrelated issue.
To reset my truck all I had to do was push the learn button on the opener and hit the mirror button 3 times and it connected.

Of course, that depends on the manufacturer of the opener.
    Mine is Liftmaster.

Clear the truck mirror and start from scratch.
Let us know if you got it fixed so others can learn..

Here are the instructions if you don't have them.

    Good luck.

So I have tried multiple times with 0 response from the unit. It won't let me try to reprogram. It still acts like I'm not pushing any of the buttons.

    That is odd.

Here is your schematic if you want to test the plug and make sure homelink is getting power.
Pin 10 would be your power.

Although if the compass works, I'd think the Homelink would be getting power.
They both use pin 10 for power.

Here is a thread on the homelink but I think you already did this..

I don't know, maybe the homelink part of your mirror just petered out..

So here is a little info. I had the same issue with my 2021 tundra and my wife’s 2018 highlander. I couldn’t figure it out thought it was the garage opener thought it was the cars. But then I removed the lights in the opener which were the cheaper LED’s I had put in it for more light. I took the lights out of the opener and now both vehicles work perfectly all the time. I don't know if this is your problem but maybe something else to possible check.

None yet but making a list and looking at the budget.....
Just as an FYI, there are 2 different versions of Homelink and the compatibility between older and newer garage door openers. You may have some type of issue with that.
