Rear truck lift option, what would you choose?

    Hello all


    My truck is leveled (2inches) front, and I need some lift in rear to even stance/tow.

    do you recommend a 1 inch block?


    I’ve seen the road active suspension lifts the truck about 1 inch and allows for better towing?


    Any suggestions are welcomed based on experiences, thanks in advance!

    If you tow, get the RAS. If you do anything, don't get a block lift. Even just new shackles with a lift would be a good idea.

    I cheaped out and got some blocks off of the jungle website....made the rear ride like poop. I agree with rdiddy, anything but block, new leafs, a shackle lift, add a leaf would be a much better option. I'm looking at some dobinson leafs to level out the rear.

    I got the RAS HD, raised me the inch I wanted to match my Bilstein 5100 on top setting in front. RAS did not affect my empty ride at all, in fact it improved it (on street). The RAS acts much like a rear stabilizer bar. I appreciate the fact that its also somewhat adjustable so you get the exact amount of lift, as well as load assist, with very little effort. No DL vibration or axle wrap issues either.

    I have a rear TRD sway bar, sounds like I could remove this if I add the RAS?

    Absolutely, many have. Mine did not have a sway bar, so i got the best of both worlds, lift, load assist, better handling. My truck is FAR more planted after install.

    But I will say, you do not have to remove it. I believe it works with the sway bar if you have one. A quick search on the forum will answer that question.

    Just to put another option out there: Icon makes an add-a-leaf kit for our trucks that runs about $300 and is designed to provide +1.5" of lift. Kit comes with new ubolts too. Pretty good overall value at the price point, but admittedly a bit of a pain to install.

    I’ll likely run it with the sway bar and maybe remove if too much. I figured I can always add additional height if needed

    my rear shocks allow for 1.5 inch of additional lift from stock.

    what setting do you have your RAS on and how much does it lift it?

    I have the HD kit, comes with a white chip and a black chip, but I don’t know how much those levels lift the rear?

    I'm running 1.5" rear w/ shackles and have the TRD swaybar. No issues.

    For me, I used the white chip, the thinnest of the two. that gave me just a hair under 1 full inch lift in rear. Every truck is different, depending on spec, spring sag, and set up. The nice thing is, if you want a little more lift, or a little less, you can adjust pretty easily. My Tundra leans right ever so slightly , so I cranked the right side RAS just a little tighter than left to level the truck (left to right) while achieving just the slightest rake back to front, which is my personal preference.

    Point is, obviously within reason, its adjustable to your preference. And for those of us without a sway bar, it just an added bonus.

    My truck underside has NH Oil Undercoating. After I installed RAS, and had it dialed in, I generously coated it with Fluid Film. Looks as good as the day I installed it, and I live in the capital of Road Salt!
