    Hey all,

Just installed my new Fox 2.0 rear shocks. The steel braided tube that leads from the shock to the reservoir rubs against the bottom of the rear shock mounting bracket. I resolved this by rotating the rear shock so the tube is at the 6 o’clock position when facing the wheel.

I would really like to place the tube at the 9 o’clock position but would need to trim some material off the bottom of the mounting bracket.

Is it ok to trim about 1/4 to 1/2 inch of material off the bottom left side of the rear shock mounting bracket to allow clearance for the tube? I just want to make sure that will not compromise the stability of the bracket.

Me personally I wouldn't trim it. I'm sure others with that same setup can post pics of how theirs is installed.

I had the same issue before with my old kings before I got bypasses, to the point where it was wearing thru the hose fitting. I notched it out about an inch or so with a cut off wheel. I run my truck pretty hard off road and never had issues with it being trimmed

I’d guess 1/4 to 1/2 inch should be fine. Thanks for the replies. I really appreciate it.

Don’t think they changed the fitting. My truck is lifted and they didn’t make the shock for the Tundra with the travel that I needed. I had to purchase a universal shock to fit my application. So the universal shock was adapted to fit my truck. They said I might need a little modification to make it fit well. I think that is why the 90 degree fitting is not on that shock. It would have made it fit much better though.

Rotate the shock body so the fitting is facing the front on passenger side and rear on driver side.

Maybe cause I have literally the exact same shocks and installed them with @TG705 o_O... but did the same thing on my truck. And have seen multiple other people make this modification on their trucks as well. @Trdwillie14
