    Hey All,

I am gearing up to purchase a full suspension setup by the end of the week. I decided to go with the TOYTEC Boss kit. Although I considered OME or 6112/5160 for the price range. But that's not why I am here. I am here specifically to talk about the rear lift options. So coming from Tacoma's most people rave about Dakar leaf packs. If not that or another full leaf pack option it was really down to add a leaf as the second choice.. Well Tundra folks seem to be less excited about Dakars, an after talking to a sales rep he seemed to indicate that they are not all that great (not bad either), an the factory springs (even though they wear/flatten out) are not bad quality according to this person.. So although I am pretty set on the rest of my lift.. I am stuck on how I want to proceed with the rear lift.. I don't carry a ton of weight or tow except a 4 wheeler. So extra capacity isn't the problem. Id like to maintain a reasonable ride quality. In the past I have always done Blocks, but seems that is universally frowned upon.. I just want to do it right this time around..I will add this is my DD an it would rarely see off road, but would be open to exploring more in the future.

I want to put it up for a vote and ask for real life experience. Looking for 1.5-2"

I'm running 6112s set at 2.5" with shims to achieve 3" of total lift in the front. No diff drop needed however I did have to install UCAs to get the alignment into spec. I have 5100s in the rear lifted at 2" as 5160s are not necessary for street or mild off-road use. They are the same shock sans the reservoir on the 5100. Potholes are not a problem at the height I'm set at. I'm running @BOSS4x4s shackles at the top setting 2" lift.

Email or call Darren at @BOSS4x4s for pricing. He can't be beat. He is also running a sale right now on preassembled 6112s for $699 free shipping.

Thanks, is there a reason you went with a shackle lift as opposed to an add a leaf?

Add a leaf will stiffen the pack. Shackle wont change your spring rate

I like the idea of maintain the softer ride, are their any potential downsides to using Shackle to lift? seems its overwhelmingly favored for Tundra guys.

Shackles lift the rear, provided a better ride and decrease the pinion angle. Blocks can increase axle wrap and keeps the same pinion angle which puts more stress on the u joints. Not that a one inch block is that bad but it is more worse with a taller block.

Hey guys, relatively new here. Recently purchased a 2019 PRO and tow a 20ft Bay Boat. Would like to lift the rear by an inch or so to avoid ass droop. I saw something here about some Shackles made for the Tundra that will provide the small amount of lift I need. The truck sits pretty much level from the factory. When towing the boat, it only droops about an inch. Can't seem to locate the thread/post that I saw those shackles in. If any of you guys/gals know what I am referring to, please advise. Thanks.

Toytec makes adjustable shackles 1 or 1.5". Another popular brand I see mentioned a lot is Coachbuilder which offers several versions. I am not sure because your a PRO if it may be different. I suspect not.. If your concerned about weight of the boat you may want to consider like an airbag set up or super bumps or helper spring ect.. I am still new to Tundras so perhaps some of the more seasoned guys may have some better advice.

Not concerned about the weight of the boat at all. The truck is rated to tow 9200 and my boat is maybe 3000. I just want to keep the rear from dropping while towing. You nailed it by saying "Coachbuilder". That is exactly what I saw somewhere else here. Thank you.

@Johnders2586 What did you decide? And are you happy with the Boss 2.5 kit?

Dang, this is a revival. I don't own the truck anymore. But I was very happy with my Toytec lift for the time I had it ( went with rear toytec shackles, an the Aluma series 2.5 up front). Buddy of mine who also has a tundra recently changed his spacer lift for the boss 2.5 aluma kit also and is very happy.. For the price point it's hard to beat IMO...
