    It's good
04 into a 10? Not recommended. 1st and second gens are fairly different, lug pattern for starters.

Color me surprised that the max track width of an '04 (?DC?) is about the same as the track width of a '10, within 1/2".

Axle has different shock mounts and everything. Won't work without fab work.

You'll have to buy two wheels for the rear. Your rear wheels won't match the front wheels anymore.

I would highly advise you stick to looking at 07+ rear ends.

When you say rear end, what exactly do you mean? Rear axle and diff? (The assumption) or like, tho whole back end of the truck? The bed?

Wheel base shouldn’t matter for the rear axle swap. Just all the problems you’ll have as mentioned above.

I think i've read that kieth from dirty deeds is running a 2gt axle under his 1gt. If so, he'd know more about it than the rest of us.

07-minus rear-ends you mean. And if OP's truck is a Tundra, skip the Sequoia because they're disc rear, IIRC. And if it's Access Cab or Regular Cab, skip Double Cab because width is different (and vice-versa).

Unless you like a little pain. But if you really are a masochist and love the pain, there'd be no point in asking this question in the first place, you'd just dive in to get dirty.

No, I do mean 07+ trucks. Why are we trying to downgrade a 2010 Tundra?

I think OP is trying to do the opposite: Slap a 2010 rear into a 2004. But maybe they can clarify.

Wait ... do you have a 2010, or a 2004? This is the 2000-2006 Tundra/1st Gen forum. The 2007-2013/2nd gen forum is over here: https://www.tundras.com/forums/2nd-gen-tundras-2007-2013.26/

If you have a 2010, they'll probably be able to help you more easily than us miscreants over here.

It can work, it has been done. You would need to figure out the leaf spring and shock mounts in the rear. You would have to figure out the driveshaft interface and the pinion flange. You could get your buddies wheels to use on your truck, would need a wheel adapter to bolt it up to the front. Your gears would not match front to back if 4wd and would have to address that as well.
