Rear camera works intermediately

Hey guys,

i have a 2017 Tundra. I have noticed that sometimes when I I put my truck in reverse my rear camera does not come on. This typically happens when I’m idling for a couple minutes, if I turn the truck off and then back on it will work fine. Any idea how to fix this? Loose wire? Bad camera? The back up lights do come on and the truck goes into reverse but the screen goes black instead of showing the camera kicking on.

Any help will be appreciated!

Check and clean the connector at the tailgate.

Wow, thanks for letting me know.
I have the same issue with my aftermarket HU.
Works every time on startup, but sometimes doesn't work when I get to my destination.
Worked fine for several months and is now doing what yours was doing..
