Bought my 07 with 172000k at the beginning of this year. Found out that the parking brake does not work. Finally getting around to it have a few questions.

What size are the rear bolts that thread in the the rotor to back then off the axle?

Has anyone ever worn out there parking brake bad enough to have to adjust it?

    Thank you in advanced.

I believe there have been some rumblings about the cable mechanism for the parking brake seizing up, which is up about under the driver's side seat on the truck. I would be sure all that is moving freely before diving into the parking brake itself.

Parking brakes can wear out. Like said above, there is an adjustment you can do on the cable going back to the brakes. It’s under the drivers side. Just follow the cable.

The rotors don’t have a bolt holding them on, just the lug nuts. There is a star screw type thing you can use to adjust through a hole in the rotor. With you mileage and age, might want to check the rotor wear for replacement and just pull them off and check the parking brakes. Have a sledgehammer ready.

“Rotors don’t have bolts holding them in” correct
My truck had newly installed pads and rotors all around from the dealer I bought it from. The passengers side has rusted to the axle and I there are 2 threaded holes that can accept bolts. I am wondering what size they are? Was hoping some one knew so as not to make more then one trip to the local “gittin spot”.

I will look for the adjustment under cab thank you for the advice. :)

I read you post wrong and thought you were asking something else. Just did the wife’s rotors and hers had bolts holding it on. Every time I’ve done the tundra I just used a mallet to bang them off.
