I'm looking for 1" lift on the rear of my Tundra 4wd. Can you please share the options that's safe and doesn't break the bank? Maybe the links to the retailers will be helpful.

I installed the Icon 1.5" AAL last month and its great. Ride feels the same (slightly "tighter").

Blocks are super cheap, get them off Amazon with new U bolts for under $50. Easy to install, not the best option, AAL is better, but honestly the ride doesn't feel bad with blocks.

I would look into shackle lift for the rear.

Gen 1 trucks use an upright shackle config. Cant lift them with shackles.

The icon add a leaf pack is probably your best bet

That would work great if the shackles weren’t inverted.

    I second this motion.
The progressive 1.5 AAL is the.best bang for your buck. Just remove the factory overload leafs and replace with the AALs for 1.5 or leave the overload leafs for 2 inches.

I hate that. No idea why Toyota did this to us. The first gen tacos had normal shackles and.as far.as.i know so did all the previous trucks. But 2nd gen tacos on and 1st gen tundras got stuck with the dumbass inverted shackles. They're great if you wanna drop you truck for cheap lol

I was surprised they changed it in the 07+.
    Not complaining though.

Can anyone please show some detailed pictures of your lift, where the new parts are, for the rear?

Do you tow with your Tacoma? I read somewhere that it may cause axle wrap.

It is true that blocks will amplify axle wrap.

I’ve never had a problem with blocks. In my opinion your good up to a 2 inch block. Otherwise you’ll need the add a leaf or new leaf pack.

I don’t tow with my Tacoma, but I carry between 300-400 pounds in the bed at all times. Never had any ill effects from the blocks.

When you add 1" block, do you have to change to longer shocks?

Many aftermarket shocks can handle an inch. Stock shocks could over extend at full droop

Is it ok to use both 1" block and helper spring together?

I finally went with EZ Hellwig helper spring and new shocks. It raises the 0.5" for the rear, and the ride is smoother and seems more solid. So far so good.
