Is anyone else ticked off that all the people who have access to the Tundra do not really talk about what we want to know?

Essentially they show clips of the video even though they are standing next to the Tundra 2022. They keep referring to the engine and drive train but they just point to it without taking off the engine cover. And then they change the subject to telling us how cool the interior and lights are.

Aside from what color options do we have, here are questions we'd like to know.

did we get a spin on oil filter?
does that dang skid plate come with a door on it now?
did they bring back a tranny dip stick?
did they coat the frame the correct way now?
did they coat the dang cross members to the bed so it doesn't have a weird rust pattern underneath?
did they get rid of the dang air injection pump?
where's the starter? do we have to remove then entire right side to access it?
how hard is it to do a waterpump change?
does the front differential have a breather hole on top?
    you know like real questions

Probably wont know until the truck goes on sale. They just lifted the media black out a few days ago and noone has driven it yet or been allowed to give their take on driving experience. One step at a time.

Spin on oil filter lol Man I'd give anything to see the look on my grandaddy's face after showing him all the pieces, parts, and custom tools required just to do an oil change on a tundra

None of those dudes keep a car or truck more than 2-3 years and they don't change oil and sure as hell have never changed a starter therefore, they dont GAF about any of these issues…so they are totally disconnected from the rest of us.

Preach. Everyone I work with except for three people "Trade up" every few years to the next model. Our 2002 has been in the family since 2007 or 2008. I pride myself on the upkeep of my vehicles, and the traders I know literally could not care less. They get an oil change once every 4 months if they remember....

Traders, and Lifers are cut from two different cloths.

20.30 min mark. Entire vid is good. Mr Truck who helps TFL do their tow challenges puts the screws to this guy a bit. Should of had a senior engineer there. Toyota mouth piece was struggling hard.

The Toyota guy in that video was worthless, he couldn't find or answer any questions. Lol.

    Where's the transmission cooler?
    Is it a sealed transmission?

Agreed, He's from the marketing department. He knew everything about the stain resistant coating but nothing when it came to technical and mechanical.

These are great questions that the average enthusiast on this website would probably love to have answers for right now, but 99% of new truck buyers really don't care about these things at all. If the average buyer did, I'm sure Toyota would have primed all these folks with that info, but they primed them with all the info the 99% care about. How shiny and pretty the interior is, the TV screen on the dash, and how many ponies are under the hood.

We all know these people. I ask a buddy of mine which engine he has in his 2016 F150, just shrugs and changes the subject because he doesn't know lol. Seems crazy to me, but that's the way it is for a lot of folks.

Evidently when it comes to Tundra issues, sharts and spills rank @ the top of the list. :notsure:

    ok great.

but people want to do this uphill at 14% grade , 80 mph, in 11,000 ft elevation, 129 degree ambient, with 37 mpg, 31 degree ac, with engine and trans temps below 140F, for minimum 780,000 miles, and it better not cost more than $28,000 dollars.

how could I forget: 25000 mile oil changes too.

Toyota uses highway gearing in their vehicles for epa numbers across the brand it's their transmission and transfer case gearing in the turbo tundra that you should be worried about

I put deposit down for this truck and I have no idea what you talking about LOL. I don’t think most buyers are mechanics or equipped with engineer knowledge to be the average owner of Tundra.

I wanted a faster vehicle so I also bought a Chevy SS... because 4 door sedans with big V8’s are hilarious.
The embargo on driving impressions and other details ends on October 12th.

    We will know more then.

Yeah, I saw Mr. Truck do the Texas State Fair interview for the 2022 Tundra. The guy is lost like last year’s Easter eggs.

The Mr. Truck video was frustrating to watch. He’s not a particularly good interviewer, and his interviewee didn’t seem to know much of anything.
