I had been researching Tacomas and I see a LOT of guys regearing the Tacos with 4.88 and even 5.29 gears. This ain’t cheap at all, but the bigger the tire the more you need to regear.

I don’t see anyone here talking about regearing a Tundra. I’m sure it’s been done, but it seems like with all the 35 and 37 inch tire setups, and even bigger, I would think I’d see some talk of regearing?

Do a search. I came up with three pages of threads.

You’re correct though, not as common due to the power delivery. Up to a 35” tire, depending on use, it may not be necessary.

    Try 4:88 gears.

You can also use the google search function as well.

I searched “gearing” and checked the box for title only and saw lots of recent threads.
I wouldn’t try searching “regearing” or “re-gearing” because if a thread is posted by someone from their phone the chances of auto correct changing “regearing” to “re gearing” or such is high.
