The engine skid is just the circled portion correct? I have a cat converter plate coming next week. Do I need the tranny skid as well to cover the whole area? Thanks.

I think that's an old photo, it doesn't have the oil drain access panel

That's the engine skid, but for a Tacoma. The Tundra skid is slightly different, but does have the oil drain plate on it. That skid will cover you all the to the rear of your LCA's at the cross-member. The next skid back will cover the transmission & transfer case.

That's for a Tacoma, and the Tundra does have an access panel.

Okay so it looks like if I go with the engine skid, it will go the the cross member just after of the LCA and oil pan, and the Cat converter skid replaces the transmission skid and goes from cross member to cross member.

Oh how I would love if this rack went higher than the cab. My ladder rack is about on its last legs and this is way more badass looking. Also much more versatile!

You are correct - The Desert Eagle skid will cover the trans so all you need is the RCI front engine skid. The mount points for the two skids is different so you will need to drill a couple holes in the DE skid.

Thanks. I did see where a couple guys were talking about cutting notches in it. Drilling sounds cleaner.

Been eyeing the 58" aluminum bed rack for a while. Quick question -- will the tonneau adapters work with the 58" rack or do I need to get the standard 54"? will I need to bolt the rack to the bed rails or does the tonneau clamp in the bed rack (bak revolver x4 cover)? thanks!

I already have the RCI tranny skid. Holding off on replacing my TRD plastic tank skid. Thinking about doing the OEM 38 swap in. My 14 build thread is going to be kicked up a notch shorty after almost 19 months of treading water.

Yeah the new trucks don't come with anything and since cat thefts are on the rise, now is the time to cover them up. Im going to do the aluminum engine skid along withe the DE skid which is steel. I'll put my horns on the back burner for a little while.
