I have a new, to me, 2wd SR5 and it did not come with a engine skid plate. I occasionally go off-road and have hit a few things in the past. I am looking at the RCI skid plate but it says for 4x4 and when I reached out they said it was for 4x4 as well, but they gave no information on why it wouldn’t work.

Does anyone know if it would work with the 2wd?

I also just bought the DE cat plate. There have been thefts around where I live and that seemed pertinent to do.

It installs the same on 2wd. I have the steel RCI skid in on my 2020 SR5 2wd

I have the RCI engine skid on my 2wd. You may want to get a rear cat plate from Valhalla. I have the DE front and Valhalla rear plate.

I saw a post you made previously about the rear car plate from Valhalla and will plan to do that if needed. From pictures I’ve seen it would be pretty difficult to get to the front of the back cats. Is that true or would it still be pretty easy?

IMO I would make it as hard as possible. The 2wd still has access even with the rear plate. I will take some pics tomorrow. PM me to remind me. Valhalla will be making an update soon to the rear plate for the 2wd. It will be a bolt on addition.

I will pm you… How much is cover by the DE plate? Doesn’t it cover the front and part of the back? Or is it just the front?

It covers the front of the rear cats but there is room since there is no transfer case.
