hell ya. Started using raptor lining in a can on some parts. Did my bushwhackers and now my rigid grill. No more stainless screws. Hopefully the tape on the lenses comes off easy. First coat only. Will post when on the truck. Also painted kb voodoo rack as well21D50567-74C7-4A30-9FD7-E844438EFCEC.jpg C474D605-6F5D-4553-80BF-0B235D45BD2B.jpgBB8D0364-13C5-45FE-8415-9E7BBD377D8D.jpg BA11CF81-4D3A-4380-8BCA-12A0D55033C2.jpg

Thank you. It’s an easy product to use. I always use the upol #4 after a quick sanding just to make sure it sticks. Two coats and you’re good. Cans are not cheap though and buy more than you need. I used 4 cans for all the flares(3 coats on each) and grill has two coats with one can. 6AF820E0-E108-40DD-8B7E-BFDB7A8E4C85.jpg

A little of this and a little of that.

Would it even stick to them without scuffing the surface?

It’s a 2k spray so definitely better than anything you’d likely buy at your local auto store. It’s a Bedliner so it’s going to be tough - I’ve dragged concrete blocks across mine with little to no damage

I used this. Scuff up the chrome a bit and two coats with the grip 4 then do the raptor lining and I think you should be good. Just follow the directions with the timing and definitely the distance when spraying the liner. Says 2-3 ft away. They are not lying.

The grip 4 is for hard to sand areas. So in theory I guess so, but since it’s permanent why not scuff it. Since it’s not cheap at $25 a can I would scuff if you can. You could always spray something else without scuffing and just using grip 4. If using on bare metal upol suggests using Acid 8 etch primer then line it. 3DE9D1E3-5F11-41B6-AB61-F0ABA8022FEB.jpg

Oh ya. Wear a respirator. It’s brutal strong while spraying and will also smell for several days after. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Stuff is super legit. Used it on my 86 4runner crawler and it's tough. I washed mine really well then used powder comet and a scotch brite pad to scuff it up a lil bit .Highly suggest it.

Looks great! I’ll be coating my truck in quicksand raptor liner also! Just finishing our horse trailer first. Glad people are starting to know about it more!

That looks awesome, similar to Kevlar I would guess? Also, you have to have an airless sprayer or something right? You didn't rattle can that whole truck did you :eek2:

They offer kits with a schutz gun to spray it with, or you can reduce it and spray it with a HVLP paint gun with a 2.0 tip(if you want a smoother finish). I did my 20' flat bed trailer frame and toolbox with raptor liner, the included gun, and a 30 gal air compressor. I got a little nervous about spraying it, but it turned out great. Definetly wear a respirator and coveralls or old clothes that you don't care about. You can vary the texture quite a bit depending on spraying pressure, so test spray on a piece of cardboard first, to dial in the texture you want. Just remember, prep is the key.

All done with the grill. Last thing is to blackout the screws on the RDS in the bumper, hard to see, but they’re stainless and tiny. my method rims have goldish colored bolts and everything else was stainless bolts. I actually like the gold bolts on the rims and everything else blacked out. F67180BB-6CBC-4AB2-BAE7-EC5DF43604B1.jpg 7E203D85-6CED-4C34-B394-DD60C3201446.jpg

April will be a year... The caps were chrome, You need to really dig them up so the liner has something to bite into. I used 80 grit on a DA and really got into it. Then clean with soap n water. That's it, then sprayed them.

Ok those flares look 1000x better with that new finish and no more chrome bolts. Can someone lead me to a resource for this stuff and the tools needed to apply it? Im guessing its a TON cheaper than having a shop
    line-x it. Thanks!
