Radiator relocation?

    I want to do a high clearance tube front bumper and I would like to not use the front valence that's on the 2nd gen. Have it look something like this. I like the look of the bumper following the curve of the front grill design as opposed to the flat look on the 3rd gens. A lot of the bumpers I see look like they just extend the front lip really far in front of the truck before running a flat skid plate to the engine skid. Preferably I would like to keep everything nice and tight to the truck with the bumper increasing my approach angle. I know I can cut into the metal frame and the silver bumper tube but it looks like I would then run into clearance issues with the front radiator. Is there anyplace I could relocate this/smaller more efficient design? Or is this just a terrible idea. I know I could put the radiator in the bed like a trophy truck but that seems a little much. Also what are the bars with the coils on them that stick out in front of the radiator and can I relocate them?IMG_2118.jpgIMG_2119.jpg IMG_2120.jpg

    Forgive me if I’m an idiot, but could you not just do a skidplate from the tube covering the radiator? My aftermarket bumper follows the same line and has a piece of steel that protects the radiator (and meets up with my skidplate).

    I believe what you have circled is the power steering cooler.

    Your condenser and radiator are stacked together in your photos, which will make it more difficult to do what you're intending.

    That's the power steering cooler. One side comes from the pump, the other to the reservior.

    It could be relocated. Buy a universal cooler with 3/8" fittings and 3/8" hose.

    I bent mine back about 1.5" It's about equal with the end of the frame horns now. It's probably all the room you need. There isnt much to gain after that except moving it up higher and cutting the tow hook extensions and the front crossmember off that hang down.

    Run a dual cross tube of 2 1/2” DOM. You could do that with 1/2 clearance on anything.
    Then go plow into an F350 head on. You’d be fine.
    Build around that with whatever pleases you. I’d think of 1/2” SS mesh at least part way
    to protect from debris, something solid that doesn’t rust.
    BTW, plastic end tubes on aluminum radiator. Not really designed for off road flex.
    That would be a concern, Tundras are well engineered so you might be okay but I’d give that a thought as I went along this road

    I hope you didn't think I was being facetious. Basically a tube pre-runner bar up front is what you are
    looking at I think. One feature of Tundra that set them apart is the amazing factory short approach angle.
    I really like it. Good luck with it and fortunately lots of options.
