Took a look under my hood today. I constantly have to clean a small trail of dried coolant from the area of my radiator cap on my 2020 Limited. I am assuming that the cap is leaking a little bit? Anyone else have a similar problem? I know if the cap is bad it is under warranty but I do not feel like bringing it to the stupid dealer for a $17 part! Plus, they will probably spill coolant and make more of a mess for me to clean. Coolant is not low so the leak is very minor. I attached a pic....

That looks like it follows a seam in the radiator tank. Clean it off and see if the seam is leaking, or if the cap is bad. If it's a failing seam, it could let go at the worst possible time.

I originally thought the same thing. I checked the seam really good and it does not appear to be cracked in any way. It looks like it is dripping out of the top of the cap and following the seam ridge down. Hopefully I am right! I just reversed the cap. I am going to see if the leak stops or goes to the other side of the radiator. If it goes to the other side then its the cap for sure. Thanks!

I'll keep my fingers crossed that it's just the cap. :fingerscrossed: I, too, would hesitate to take it to the dealer. Sitting in the waiting room for a couple of hours while they confirmed the diagnosis wouldn't be worth it for just a radiator cap.

Looks like it's leaking from the cap. Cheap fix to buy another and see if it stops leaking

That TRD stuff is funny! I am guessing the radiator cap is just a stock cap with a TRD sticker? Is the correct Toyota part number, 16401-36020, for the cap? Thanks

It looks like it was the cap for sure. I reversed it and no more leak. Since there is no more leak, I am just going to leave it as it. Thanks for helping!

You might check where that mold line hits the sealing surface on the lip of the radiator. Maybe a pronounced edge that you could sand off....

It's probably just a drip from when someone checked the fluid level.
