Replaced my leaking rack and pinion. Watched some videos. Took about 5 hours. Hit one glitch. The steering column was rusted into the Steering Box. I just want to share That I went with Detroit Axel. It was 215.00 free shipping. Lifetime warranty upon return of your core. Free return shipping for the core. It does not include O rings for the 2 steering lines. So make sure you have those. I tried really hard to match up everything so I could avoid alignment. It didn’t work. I have appointment for alignment tomorrow. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask.

Did you replace your steering shaft seal? I got one just because I was going to be in there (my old one was showing light through it) and what a difference in dust reduction and engine noise in the cab.

No. I didn’t have any issues with that. But, I agree that would be a good idea.

I average about 12k miles a year on gravel so the dust was killing me. It fixed the problem
