My family and I live in Spring and are wanting to go on a trip this weekend to a natural swimming hole. Being that there are so many options, what is the most recommended? My first thought was Blue Lagoon in Huntsville but I'm not sure if I want to risk it seeing that it is limited entry and would hate to drive there with no plan B.

Hey, there. I usually got to Blue Lagoon, and if that is not available I will sometimes go down south and go to Mammoth Lake or I will go up north from Spring (I also live in Spring) towards Fort Worth area to the west is Possum Kingdom Lake. Both are great for swimming and camping and when I go Scuba. Have fun with the fam.

Looking to stay near houston? Otherwise, Canyon lake isnt bad, and you can kayak from the guadalupe to camp. Buchanan lake isnt bad, but i havent been there or marble falls lately. I had a friend with property on livingston, so i dont know what camping is like there. But my favorite is the frio river in garner state park.

Although I’ve never been, I’ve heard good things about Jacobs Well/Blue Hole Regional Park in Wimberley.
