I vote for key start. Because that’s what I have in my ‘18

    Key start.

In many circumstances keyless cars are easier to steal.

No real preference. I have always had key and have no problem with it. I kinda like the fact that while hunting I can just leave keys in ignition.

I enjoy my key start! Key start is great because I can unlock my wheel and easily put it into accessory mode (to check mileage, reset oil change light etc). I'm old school, it is just easier for me entirely.

Key start. My wife's Highlander push start and I can't stand it. You can't leave a key in it and lock it( if she stays in the car while I go in somewhere) and you can leave it running and walk away because it will beep at you.

Keyed only. This video explains why, and what those of you with push button start can do to protect your truck.

Also, in honor of the Tacoma (in the video) on the Tundra list.

Key start. Because i like the feeling of turning the key in the ignition to start the engine. Push button in a modern car doesnt have the same feeling, maybe im old school i dont care.

I like push start. I can get in the truck, start the truck, turn off the truck, lock the truck hands free. It wasn’t in my list of needs or wants when I got it but definitely grown on me as a nice feature

having both kind of messes with my head sometimes. I try to push start the truck that needs a key and the other way around.

like having a phone with facial recognition vs typing in a 6 digit code every time you open your phone, and in this case turning off your phone

    WHY THE CAPS?

Love the old school key start in my ‘17 Tundra. Feels good in a simple, classic truck. Turn the key, hear the V8 roar.

Also love the keyless entry and push to start on our Sienna and Camry. More convenient when you’re lugging around kids and dogs and groceries.

Ah, that sucks. I was offered to use my work phone as my personal as well, but I turned it down. Work and home are kept separate in my life. Plus, then I'd have to lock my phone like you. Ain't nobody got time for that!

Id love for someone to find my phone and go thru my stuff. theyr damn heads would explode.

I vote key start because I have heard way too many of horror stories of a push button start causing weird issues with simple mods.

I'm old school and like key start but I have to admit that the ability to unlock the truck by pushing a button on the door handle with my keys in my pocket would be handy from time to time.

My parents' 2009 Suzuki Grand Vitara is a good compromise because it has keyless start but instead of a button, it has a piece you turn so you still get that sensation of turning the key.

I prefer key start, ‘cause I’m cranky like that.

Wife’s Can-me has push-button start, it’s nice to lock / unlock the doors with a touch of the handle, but I still like the feeling of sliding a key into a tumbler and making it crank.

Of course, my 2014 SR5 DC is a key start.
Limited experience with push-button in the wife's Caddy, until November when my cats were stolen.

My loaner/rental 2021 Tacoma has a push-button start and I've been driving it for 6 months.
Hated it at first, but I'm probably gonna miss it when I get my 2014 back.
I do like the convenience, but I wouldn't like the security issues.
Kind of nice to just touch the handle to open and touch the handle to lock without touching the remote.

But I remote start my Tundra with the remote every time I walk up to it.
As well in the 100-degree weather, I lower the windows with my remote as I walk up to it.

Funny thing with the rental Tacoma, I had it a couple of months and didn't have the key to lock the tailgate.
I figured if thieves would steal my cats in my employer's parking lot, why not steal the tailgate?
So I put a hose clamp on the tailgate hinge to slow them down.

Had to take it in for service (5K tire rotation) and asked for the key.
My service advisor took the remote, pressed the button on the side, and pulled the key out..
I felt like an idiot, I had the key the entire time..
Wife's caddy remote has the key in it but it is more obvious, the Toyota remote it was kinda hidden..

Having push button on my Jeep and work Ram makes me loathe getting my key fob out to unlock my doors / insert and turn key when I drive my Tundra.

It is such a much more efficient and convenient system. Turn key ignition folks probably argued that roll down windows vs electric, and manual door locks vs remote fob are better because they were more reliable.

Having owned both on the Tundra, I am a mixed bag.

I love the push button because I am not fishing for keys, I can walk up to the truck and it unlocks, I can use my hands for other things when getting in and out, and they fob in my pocket never jungles.

I miss the key because it always leaves the truck in the garage and I have to go find it after I change my clothes. I do not have to do some convoluted work around to keep the truck in ACC mode.

    I miss my key.

I had a 2018 w/ a key, now I have a 2021 with a push start. Something about turning a key to start that beast. I could start my truck without pushing the brake from the passenger side or not getting completely in the truck, don't understand the need to have the brake pedal pushed when the truck is in park.

The having to have the foot on the brake is one of my biggest gripes with the keyless. It always annoys the crap out of me on my wife’s Rav4. Plus the batteries don’t last as long in those fobs, already had to change them and the car is a 19 with 25k miles.

Wow, already. I know most brands are going away from this, but having a physical key as an option would open a good market for Toyota.

Push button all day. I have it in the Audi and it’s mandatory going forward. Someone said it above, but those who want to hold onto tradition will say key (there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that), and those who realize every vehicle will have it moving forward learn to embrace the changing times and evolution in tech.
