This is a great tool when switching tires sizes, load ratings. Will get you right in the ballpark and then you can adjust up or down a pound or two based on how you drive, load, etc.

Those are e rated. The door jamb is way too low for stock P rated tires. For e rated with no load in the truck 35 front and 30 rear is a decent start

Sounds close depending on load rating. I run 275/70-18 E load and 39/40 in front and 40 in back keep tire wear nice and even.

I have them in 275/70-18 E rated and keep them at 40 psi front and rear. Tire wear has been very even for me so far.

Door jamb sticker for the BFG D rated that came on my truck is 44 maybe 46. I ran them closer to 50 with even wear. I got new tires at 70k and could have gone 75.

Definitely don’t wanna do this with an e rated tire on a half ton

I'm just saying you can safely inflate up to what the tire says. Not saying it will be the best performance. I keep my stock tires at 35 cold. If i need to air down for off road i do but best mpg and tread wear is higher psi. Definitely not the best ride quality though.

Or on a 3/4 ton. 80 lbs would be like rolling on a solid tire. Plus I can't imagine filling with 80 lbs. I run 60 in my boat trailer.

Based on this size, toyota calls for 30 PSI front, 33 PSI rear. As such, the tire supported 2421 lbs of load front, 2535 lbs of load rear.

    To match this load capacity:

If LT285/65R18 tire size, inflate front to 45 PSI and rear to 49 PSI. Keep in mind this is based on Toyota's load spec with full fuel tank, driver & 4 passengers, etc. This would be your minimum cold street pressure.

If non-LT size 285/65R18, inflate front tires to 31 PSI and rear tires to 33 PSI.

Tire manufacturers follow vehicle manufacturer air pressure recommendations or if plus sizing, coming close to the load capacity of the OE tire size/load rating(for liability purposes). The air pressures set by the vehicle manufacturer are based on a fully load truck (driver + passengers, full fuel tank, and contents in the bed of the truck).

However, I would use those pressures as a starting point and tinker with it to get a comfortable ride when not fully loaded.

I run my 305/65-18s at 30 psi all around. 40+ psi in the rear when I tow/haul.

For the LT275/70R18 tire size, you'll adjust to

    44 PSI front

    47 PSI rear

This is based on Toyota's load spec with full tank of fuel, topped off on all fluids, full cab of passengers and any remaining load, from total passenger weight, for payload/cargo.

    I really like this!!!

I’d love to hear your input on my current, and future tires…

    OEM was 275/55-20. 30# front, 33# rear.

Currently, I have LT275/65-20 LRE Cooper Discoverer AT3-XLT. I’ve been running 40# all around, but bump the rears up to 45# when towing the TT. (I try to keep it so that heat generated pressure increase doesn’t exceed 50# and turn my TPMS light on…)

I will be moving to LT285/75-18 LRE Wildpeaks soon, and am curious about two things.

What is my ideal pressure with the LT275/65-20 that I have now?

What should I expect to run when I move to LT285/75-18?

    Thanks!

Your TPMS needs to be reset for the larger tires. I had BFG KO2s in a D rated as OEMs and my TPMS will light up in cold weather at PSIs below about 46. The supplemental door sticker on mine is 48. I run all least that. I did not know the TPMS would trigger with too much air.

In my 2018 Platinum, it will read pressures up to 50#, and then give me a TPMS problem message in my message page on dash instead of going to 51# on the monitor screen.

I appreciate your response, but will wait to hear what @Falken QA has from their algorithm.

So, the factory tire size, P275/55R20, supported

2249 lbs at 30 PSI front
2348 lbs at 33 PSI rear.

I can't comment on Conti's recommendation if they based their adjustment differently, but lets pretend it was one of ours, the LT275/65R20 pressure would be to match the OE tire size load capacity is

    40 PSI front
    42 PSI rear

As for the LT285/75R18 tire size, you'll adjust to

    35 PSI front
    37 PSI rear

Keep in mind the pressures are based ETRTO data/inflation chart, with the baseline being the OE tire size and tire pressure. Load is based on the vehicle manufacturer's load capacity, as stated on the door pillar. This typically translate to a full cab of passengers and/or total weight/load, full tank of full, and topped off fluids.

What pressure for P275/60R20 (OEM 275/55R20)?

I have 35psi @ room temp, or about 32/33 cold and they look too low.

If you don't mind, @Falken QA I'd be curious what the recommendation would be for a bigger tire. My 2019DC is listed with P275/65R18 at 30 front/33 rear (so similar to what others posted above)
Right now I'm running LT295/70R18 load range E (129/126) tires. What would be the right pressure for fully loaded / max towing? Thank you!!!
