    Hello all. I am happy to find this site. I sold my 71 VW last month and started looking for a truck. VW owners have a similar site called TheSamba.com to host forums and sharing.
    Using Facebook Marketplace on a Friday night, I found a 2006 Tundra, regular cab and 8 ft bed. It checked all my boxes with bench seat and vinyl floor (better to clean up after my passenger dog's hair) as well as 6 speed manual on the floor to satisfy my need to shift. Shifting was the main thing I enjoyed about air-cooled VWs. I also enjoyed restoring VWs and it looks like the Tundra might offer fun in the garage. I am the third owner after 105,000 miles on the truck.
    Since May 13th purchase, I have had the pleasure of the following projects;
    Peeling off the window tint back to factory tint.
    Thoroughly cleaning under the hood for all painted surfaces.
    Replacing the missing tailgate cap.
    Replacing floor mats with Weather Tech rubber mats.
    Removing old decals from tailgate.
    Adding Carr 15 inch side-step hoops.
    Replacing factory CD/radio with Pioneer DMH-160BT with Apple Play and backup camera.
    Replacing power outlet with USB adapter to run plug in Iphone connecting to radio.
    Replacing tailgate latch to one with built-in camera.
    The P.O. (previous owner) had a mishap, damaging the front bumper cover so I have ordered a replacement with paint and retainers.
    Factory cloth seats are in great shape but due to Penny the Dog, I await fitted seat covers that dog hair will not stick to. Cloth seats retained underneath and protected.
    I have read about shifter bushing and seat replacement to restore smooth shifting but I haven't figured it all out yet. After the bumper and seat cover.

    Thanks for letting me ramble and get my feet wet.
