Has anybody brought their Pro in to Toyota for the skid plate squeak? Would that be a warranty fix?

Mine suffers from a squeak when I'm turning into and out of my uphill drive way. I always thought it was the suspension, but is this a common issue with the skid plate on the pro's?

Trim down the skid plate. Use a grinder or cutters.

I have heard that most people with this squeak are fixing it with rubber or plastic washers. Mine doesn't make any noise.
If there are any mods to the front suspension the dealer might say that is a factor, I don't know.

Believe mine has started to squeak.

Had first thought it was CB steering kit, but now thinking skid.

I am going to start by taking it off next weekend hoping that's where the sound is coming from and if it is I will see if it needs trimming or bushings.

I have had no squeak but my truck is still basically new. A friend of mine has a 16 PRO and told me about a similar issue he had. It was caused by some idiot at his dealership using an impact on the skid plate bolts after an oil change. He brought it back and they fixed it for him.

There’s a Parts kit to for it, It should be covered under warranty. Took mine in and filed a claim, got a letter a couple weeks later to come in and get it installed.

Was it pretty easy to get Toyota to fix this? And can you confirmed it worked?

Had my done on my '17 Pro last week. No more popping noise with 200 miles since. Just print the attach pdf (Tech tip 0418-160418-16) and bring into your service advisor. Hope this help.

That would have been handy. Took my dealership 3 visits to figure out what it was and how to fix it. Even with me telling them what it was the first time... LOL
